This third iteration aims to serve as a snapshot of Irish underground electronic music, with some of the most exciting artists currently operating in Éire and beyond. Today we premiere MEJMI's track from the VA entitled, “Tike Myson”. “Tike Myson” is a powerful exploration of identity and emotion, drawing inspiration from Sunil Sharpe's "Etaci." This track features a hard-hitting kick that drives the energy forward, complemented by a rumbling bassline that creates an uplifting "Irish drive," reminiscent of traditional Irish music. From the outset, a high-pitched tense drone establishes a sense of anticipation, which finds release in a beautiful choir during the breakdown—a signature element of my production style. Honing his skills as an eclectic multi-genre DJ and producer, STITCH has provided us with a skillful insight to his vast selections as a DJ for our 260th edition. STITCH has been making a name for himself within the Irish and UK dance scenes respectively in recent times. Playing a host of shows around the country as well as earning his first international gig in Bristol last year. Our latest contribution to the Four Four Local Selection is Irish-born, Berlin-based DJ and promoter Taurean. The DOLLHAUS founder has provided us with a highly energetic recording which captivates her distinct approach to techno. Taurean’s work with Dollhaus has shown that she is a fierce advocate for supporting FLINTA DJs and producers. She has done so by providing them with a platform to express themselves and provide a space for a vast amount of artists to flourish since the inception of Dollhaus. This This mix is a fantastic display of Taurean’s vast discography, as she toggles between a range of driving and emotive cuts throughout. Over the hour-long recording, you can expect to hear elements of meddling percussion, fused with brimming basslines that weave everything together. Not forgetting certain nods to some old school influences which Taurean derives significant inspiration from. Four Four Premiere: Havik - Spitting Venom [Undivided] by Four Four Magazine

This week’s Local Selection comes from Brazilian-born Ortega, who delivers an hours live set of stripped-back, powerful house. The mix weaves in and out of syncopated synth lines, swirling acid, and Drexcyian electro euphoria. Ortega, also known as Boomtz Boom, is a DJ and electronic music producer from Taboão da Serra, Brazil. His journey into dance music began at the age of nine in 1993, eventually leading him to pursue DJing in 2006. By 2012, Ortega had made his mark on São Paulo’s club scene and became a key member of the Smile Collective, where he immersed himself in the city’s vibrant club culture. In 2016, he shifted focus to production, blending elements of electro, house, techno, and acid with latin, jazz, funk, and disco influences. Ortega has played at several notable festivals and venues, including Electric Picnic, Tengu, Wigwam, Fidelity, and Skol Beats Factory, sharing the stage with many of his musical idols. The 22-year-old DJ and producer from Galway has provided us with an hour long recording for the 255th edition, tipping his hat to his Irish roots as well as traversing through elements of techno and trance throughout. Coming from a singer-songwriter background initially, MANNIO is well versed in the realm of live music and instruments as he has experience in playing the guitar and piano, which has stood to him in discovering his distinct style in an electronic sense.
