Welcome Back To School and September. Today, I'm kicking off the Back To School Series PART 3 with Full House S3E4: Nerd For A Day, which aired on October 13, 1989. In this episode Stephanie and the rest of her class get detention for calling classmate Walter "Duck Face." Uncle Jesse says being nice to people is important and makes her call Walter to apologize. Unfortunately, Walter takes this to mean Stephanie is his girlfriend, and she suggests being his "secret girlfriend" instead of rejecting him outright and hurting his feelings. The next day when her friends come over to work on a school project, Walter shows up just before everyone else and they find him holding her hand. Also Danny and Joey both compete for the attention of Becky's child birth coach Lisa, sadly Danny loses out to Joey because Lisa can't get enough of Joey's cartoon impressions (being we never see her again, I take it at some point she grew weary of the impressions). Hey Everyone, Angela Bowen here, the host of Punky Power: An Unofficial Punky Brewster Podcast. Today, I covered the movie Where The Red Fern Grows from 1974. I originally saw this movie when I received the VHS for my birthday when I was 12. Since then I've watched it at least once a year during the Summer. This movie is so near and dear to my heart. Along with covering the movie I also reads passages from the novel. The beginning of the novel starts out differently as well as some scenes that were cut from the film. I do plan to cover Where The Red Fern Grows 2 at some point on the podcast so look for that in the future. Movie Synopsis: Where the Red Fern Grows is the heartwarming and adventurous tale for all ages about a young boy and his quest for his own red-bone hound hunting dogs. Today, I covered Full House S3E13: No More, Mr. Dumb Guy, which aired on January 5, 1990. In this episode Jesse feels intellectually challenged after Becky invites him to the Fine Arts Festival and he ends up going head to head or should I say arm to arm with Becky's old college professor Dr. Eric Trent. (the actor is the son of Dick Van Dyke)in a battle of brawn for Becky's affection. Meanwhile Stephanie and DJ little gamer of "telephone" or as Stephanie calls it "Michelle-a-phone" turns turns their sweet little sister Michelle into a little insult monster as she goes around calling everyone "cheese-head". Today, I'm covering Full House S1E13: Sisterly Love, which aired on January 8, 1988. In this episode, Stephanie is chosen for the part in a TV commercial for which D.J. was auditioning. Joey after a visit to the doctor decides to cut out all junk food as it is revealed he has high cholesterol. This is the first episode of the SISTERS Double Feature PART 1. I really enjoyed this episode. I got some Who's The Boss, Judith Light as Angela Bower vibes with Vivian the casting director(and when I say vibes I just mean she resembled her a little with the big blond hair and giant 80's glasses) when DJ went to the audition. If I had to choose between DJ's audition and Stephanie's (not official audition, c'mon she was just having fun eating cereal). I'd go with Stephanie's. Today, in honor of Michael Campion's(Jackson Fuller) Birthday (July 26), I decided to cover Fuller House S1E6: The Legend of Explosivo, which aired on February 26, 2016. In this episode DJ punishes Jackson after catching him in the act of performing a dangerous stunt over (having been influenced by the wrestling stunts of Lucha Kaboom)at Bobby Popko's house, causing him to miss his favorite Mexican wrestling league, Lucha Kaboom (which Stephanie who's DJing at the event has tickets for the whole family). However, DJ grounds Jackson, but unbeknownst to her he concocts a plan with the help of his friend Bobby Popko to sneak down and see the wrestling event. Ramona has her own problems when it comes to Kimmy interfering with her dance team routine and she puts her on snack/chauffeur duty. Today, in honor of Lori Loughlin's (Aunt Becky) Birthday, I decided to cover Full House S8E21: Leap Of Faith which aired on March 21, 1995. In this episode Jesse tries to stop Rebecca from bungee jumping--but thinks it's okay if he takes risks. Michelle cons her dad into letting her go to a rock concert. I enjoyed this episode, but both Jesse's only men can be adventurous and take risks but not women attitude towards Becky and Danny who thinks it's a great idea to let a 9 year old go to a Counting Crows Concert which is totally bonkers. this got on my nerves. I mean, she constantly gets the band's name wrong and clearly this will be a concert where everyone is standing up and Michelle being a kid won't even be able to see the stage let alone the band performing. Today, I covered the final episode in the "Reunion" series, with Fuller House S2E11: DJ and Kimmy's High School Reunion, which aired on December 9. 2016. In this episode a high school reunion leaves DJ wondering whether she still has feelings for Steve, while a hapless Kimmy is trending for all the wrong reasons. I enjoyed this episode, but Michael Campion's (Jackson Fuller)acting in the scene where Stephanie tries to talk to him in his bedroom and he's tearing up or trying and failing to cry it just feels like those scenes that require him to be upset or portray a strong emotion is difficult for him, we're so used to seeing him play a not taken seriously goof and Lola obsessed. Also the surprise cameos, Kathi Santoni (YAY!), Duane (Kimmy's ex-boyfriend from Full House Season 8) (YAY!), Nelson and Viper (BOO!) we could have done without this two they were too cornball

Today, in honor of Father's Day and Danny Tanner, I cover Full House S4E3: Crimes and Michelle's Demeanor, which aired on September 28, 1990. In this episode when Michelle misbehaves, Danny is in denial, believing she is still too young to be punished. Jesse shops for an engagement ring and makes a sacrifice that Becky thinks is too much. DJ and Stephanie face the wrath of Danny after a pillow fight started by the youngest Tanner takes a drastic turn. Let's just say Danny really got on my nerves this episode. Hey Everyone, Angela Bowen here, the host of Punky Power: An Unofficial Punky Brewster Podcast. Today, I covered the movie Lassie which was released in the Summer of 1994. I really loved this movie when I first watched it when I was 13 I got it for as a Christmas gift in 1995 and I still love it today at 38. This movie has it all, family fun, adventure, action and new beginnings, plus Tom Guiry (Matt Turner) wasn't bad to look at when I was a teen and I'd already known him as Scotty Smalls in The Sandlot from 1993 (a movie that I already reviewed for the podcast and is also available to listen to anytime). Also the scenery in this movie is beautiful, they film in Virginia and the movie score is amazing, really tugging at the heart strings, and the cast does an awesome job in the performances of their roles. Today, I'm kicking off June with The "Reunion" Series in honor of my 20 year high school reunion this year (I won't be attending), and I covered Full House S3E23: Fraternity Reunion, which aired on April 27, 1990. In this episode a fraternity reunion has Danny and Joey dressed in drag. And in jail. Danny also bans Kimmy from the house for 3 weeks over the family TV is knocked over the railing and smashes to the floor. Who knew that attempting to watch two TVs at once could result in such a funny accident and a banishment. Today, in honor of Mother's Day I decided to cover Fuller House S5E13: College Tours, which aired on June 2, 2020. In this episode Kimmy finds out Ramona is looking at colleges on the East coast, she and DJ take Ramona and Jackson on a tour of Cal University. DJ tries to get Jackson enthusiastic about college and discovers he has talents that she hadn't noticed. Stephanie plans a day of relaxation and Jimmy, Fernando and Steve are out trying on tuxes. In all honesty DJ really got on my nerves this episode with her overly perkiness like it was set to overdrive. I really enjoyed the guys at the bridal and tuxedo shop along with Max insulting Berta's (shop owner) fashion and apparently Max can speak some Russian (which comes in handy later on) this was more fun and enjoyable than the college tour plot in my opinion. Today, I decided to revisit one of my favorite childhood movies, Homeward Bound: The Incredible Journey released in 1993. I was 10 going on 11 when I first saw this movie in the theater and I absolutely fell in love with it. Movie Synopsis: A fun-loving American bulldog pup, a hilarious Himalayan cat, and a wise old golden retriever embark on a long trek through the rugged wilderness of the Sierra Nevada mountains in a quest to reach home and their beloved owners. I decided to kick off the Dog Days Of Summer Series early, with this movie and plan to cover the sequel Homeward Bound 2: Lost In San Francisco in May, I'm just gonna say, I was bawling my eyes out just like all the other times I've watched this movie.
