After Christmas I will be completing Season 2 of Punky Brewster with S2E17-S2E21 Changes Parts 1-5 which aired between February 2-March 2 1986. This will be a long episode. Today I’ll be discussing another serious episode of Punky Brewster. S2E16 Cherie Lifesaver which aired on January 19, 1986 Henry reluctantly buys a new refrigerator and puts the old one in the backyard. Mike teaches CPR to the children in class. Allen goofs off and is sent to the principal's office. When the children are playing Hide and Seek, Cherie hides in the fridge and suffocates. Happy Halloween Punky Peeps, I hope you have a great day and I thought in honor of this spooky holiday I’d review S2E10: Love Thy Neighbor which aired on November 17, 1985. In this episode On Halloween, Punky raises the ire of Mrs. Peevey, a cantankerous old woman who lives in the building, simply by trying to be her friend. Time for my Brandon Tail Wag Episode Rating: I’m giving it 4 out of 5 Brandon Tail Wags 1. For the kids awesome costumes Rambo, Tony the Tiger and I don’t understand why Punky wanted to be Gidget since she was popular in the 50’s. 2. For Brandon and Henry dressed alike. That was cute and funny how people reacted. 3. For Mike and Punky coming to Mrs. Peevy’s aid when she was hurt and Mrs. Peevy discovering that not all children are bad like the one that knocked her down. 4. For Mrs. Peevy coming over at the end and looking nice complete with a new look and new hip and getting back into dancing. Hey there Punky Peeps, This time around I’ll be discussing two serious episodes the first one is S2E8: Just Say No which aired on October 27, 1985 and this is the episode that dealt with Punky and Cherie being offered drugs by a group of 5th grade girls who call themselves the Chiclets, yes just like the candy. Time for my Brandon Tail Wag Episode Rating: I’m giving this episode 5 out of 5 Brandon Tail Wags 1. For approaching the subject of the temptation of drug use in a way that wasn’t too scary for young kids but gave a positive message. 2. For showing Punky and Cherie so eager to join an older girls group that they began to mimic their dress and slang and how easily the older girls had influence over Punky and Cherie and showing Punky and Cherie trying hard to resist the urge to try drugs. 3. For Henry and Betty vetoing the idea of Punky and Cherie hanging out with 6th graders being they’re 9 years old. This was before Chiclets were revealed to be drug users. 4. Listener Question Fall 2017 Edition: As you all know Fall starts this Friday. What are your favorite things about Fall? Is it the leaves changing color? Pumpkin Spice Flavored Everything? My husband got me into watching the reality show Chrisley Knows Best on USA even though he normally hates reality tv. I bought some Fall Flavored M&M’s White Chocolate Pumpkin Pie and Cookies and Scream which Cookies and Scream is only available at Target. Glade Fall Scented Candles and Air Freshners Pumpkin Scented and Bath and Body Works Body Wash and Lotion my new favorites are Caramel Apricot, Fall is in the Air, and Marshmallow Pumpkin Latte.
