How are we called to Go and spread the Kingdom of God in the Earth?

Key Idea:  We are called to grow from belief in Jesus to a mindset of intentional progress in making apprenticeship to Jesus (becoming like him) a way of life.Goal - Christlikeness in every aspect of our lives

Following Jesus is less prescriptive and more descriptive.  We are given a general framework by the early disciples of how to live out the teachings of Jesus and follow his way.  They are simple, but not easy, they are repeatable but grow more difficult, they allow anyone who believes to choose to follow, and all who remain faithful will grow stronger over time.  We are like a tree planted by His waters, we grow strong in Him, and we become an immovable force in God’s kingdom.We will walk the entire church through the same process we walked our staff and some leaders through when it comes to what we are called to be as disciples of Jesus.  We’ll read through Matthew 28 and Acts 2 each week and break down each part of the framework.

1 Timothy 6:11-19Our finances reveal where our hearts truly are, and God calls us to trust Him by giving generously. What does my giving say about where my heart is?  What role does fear play in being generous financially?

Matthew 25:14-30God gave us gifts to be used for His glory and the good of others, not to be buried or wasted. How am I using my God-given talents to serve others and glorify Him?

Galatians 6:1-10Our time is one of the most valuable gifts we can give, and God calls us to steward it well. How am I using my time to serve God and others? How can I be expected to serve others when I don’t have any extra margin in my schedule?

2 Corinthians 9:6-15God calls us to move beyond scarcity and live generously with our treasure, time, and talent. Where am I living with a scarcity mindset instead of trusting God’s abundance? What mental blocks do I have when it comes to generosity?  Where have I seen this mishandled by a “church”?

(Ephesians 6:17b–20)The armor isn’t just for defense. God gives us the sword of the Spirit, His Word, and the power of prayer. With Scripture in our hearts and prayer on our lips, we’re equipped not just to endure but to advance. This final step activates us to live bold, Spirit-filled lives, interceding for others and proclaiming the hope of Jesus.

(Ephesians 6:16–17a)Flaming arrows of doubt, fear, and lies will come but faith is our shield. Salvation is our helmet, guarding our minds and reminding us who we are in Christ. With faith and salvation, we can stand against the enemy’s attacks and live with renewed courage, trust, and clarity in God’s promises.

(Ephesians 6:15)Shoes prepare us to move, and the gospel of peace equips us to walk in confidence. This isn’t a passive peace, it’s an active stance that helps us gain ground even when life feels shaky. The peace of Christ steadies us within and sends us out to bring good news and reconciliation wherever we go.

(Ephesians 6:14)A belt holds everything together, and God’s truth does the same in our lives. The belt of truth and breastplate of righteousness protect us from lies that twist our thinking and choices. When we live in the truth of God’s Word and allow His righteousness to guard our hearts, we stand secure in a world full of compromise.

(Ephesians 6:10–13)Life is a spiritual battle, and too often we forget we’re in the fight. Paul reminds us that our struggle isn’t against people but against spiritual forces of darkness. The good news? God provides His strength and His armor so we can stand firm. In Christ, we don’t fight alone, we suit up daily with His power to resist the enemy and stay strong.

The mission doesn’t stop with us. Jesus commissions His followers to go, make disciples, and leave a lasting mark. Faith is never meant to stay still—it’s meant to multiply across generations.

Before Jesus began His ministry, He was baptized and immediately tested. Like Him, we must know who we are before we face the pressures of the world. Even when we wander like the lost sheep, coin, or son, God always invites us back to our identity in Him.

At twelve, Jesus stayed behind in the temple to be “about His Father’s business.” We grow when we take ownership of our faith—not just relying on our parents, mentors, or leaders, but pursuing God personally.
