For this week’s bonus podcast, we’re dipping back into the Listener Questions vault to tackle two more of your thought-provoking ponderings. First up, we muse on the idea of naming a child after a Corrie character – if we absolutely had to, who would we choose from the cobbles? (And which names would be on our definite veto list?) After that, we take on a question about the characters we’re not so fond of, imagining the storylines we’d give them that might just raise them in our estimations. On our latest podcast, we chat about the episodes of Corrie shown between the 11th and the 15th August (Episodes #11,641 - 11,646). We were a bit tight for time when we were recording this as we had a wedding to get to, so this episode is Street Talk only! This week saw Abi and Carl come dangerously close to being exposed when Hope inadvertently snapped a photo of them together in the precinct. Sadly for us, one impromptu phone dunking later and their secret’s still safe… Can this affair just end or be rumbled soon, please, Corrie? Meanwhile, Gary dishes out a dose of street justice to Noah after hearing how he treated Theo in the past – but with Danielle pointing the finger at her husband for the attack, it looks like his chances of seeing his kids again are slipping away. Also this week, Steve makes himself less than welcome when he moves into Number 9, things go from bad to worse for Aadi, and George suffers an unsuccessful blind date – though could romance be waiting just a corner shop away?

On this week’s bonus podcast, we shine the spotlight on the switchboard queen herself, Eileen Grimshaw. The last time we profiled her was way back in 2013, so it’s high time we caught up - and even focusing just on the years since then still gave us a couple of hours’ worth of discussion! From her disastrous track record with men to the highs and lows of family life at Number 11, we leave no stone unturned in this in-depth look at Eileen’s character and her storylines over the past decade and a half.

We're back from our holidays in France, all caught up on Corrie, and it's finally time for Episode #691 of the podcast, where we chat about what went on between the 25th July and the 1st August (Episodes #11,627 - 11,634) It's been a long time coming, but this week finally saw Abi and Carl giving into their desires and dropping their drawers for a seven-minute bunk up in the garage office. Whilst Abi rated the union 'cracking' and Carl certainly seemed pleased with himself, we can't say we're too pleased about the development ourselves - but is there really ANYONE in this storyline who's side we'd say we were on? It was a tough week for Theo this week when Noah reared his head again with a Bible in one hand and a leaflet to his latest conversion session in the other. Can Theo let go of his past and stay true to himself? Also this week, Ryan's left reeling when Debbie gives him an unexpected kiss - a friendly gesture from a grateful boss, a side effect of her dementia.. or something much murkier? Meanwhile, Aadi scrambles to keep Dev from uncovering the truth about the staged robbery, Lou braces herself for a likely prison sentence, and Sam mysteriously vanishes during Audrey’s birthday party. On the Saturday of International Soap Week, the pair of us took on the challenge of walking between the location of Corrie's old set in Quay Street to its current home in Media City, and we weren't alone! Accompanied by a group of Conversation Street listeners, we set off through Manchester, stopping off at various Corrie filming locations with the aim of raising money for Dementia UK. This episode of the podcast chronicles our journey, as well as recounting various other Corrie related goings on during our trip up north, including visiting the places where some of this year's location shoots took place and chatting with Sally Ann Matthews outside the studio gates. To mark International Soap Week, we’ve got a special interview with someone who’s been involved in just about every major UK soap out there. Mickey Jones began his career as a storyliner on Coronation Street before stepping in front of the camera to play larger-than-life barman Lance Powell in Brookside. Since then, he’s returned behind the scenes to direct episodes of Emmerdale, Hollyoaks, and Corrie - a role he continues to this day. On our latest episode of the podcast, we chat about what that group of young reprobates got up to on the cobbles this week (Episodes #11,603 - 11,608). Judging by people's reactions online, Monday's big event episode was a pretty polarising one among fans, and we actually surprised ourselves by loving it!
