  • Our Night At The British Soap Awards 2023

    06/06/2023 Duración: 01h28min

For the first time in four years, the British Soap Awards are back in Manchester! We travelled up to see the Corrie cast arrive at the Lowry before heading inside to watch the ceremony being filmed. This episode has everything you need to know about what it's like to attend the show, and for tonnes of photos and footage of the event, check out the video version of the podcast on our YouTube channel at https://youtu.be/nZFdmgk80Eo!

  • Conversation Street Episode 578

    03/06/2023 Duración: 02h37min

On our latest podcast, we chat about what went on in Weatherfield between the 29th May and the 2nd June 2023 (Episodes #10966 - 10970) Britain's Got Talent week is here again, and you know what that means for Corrie: stunts galore, massive twists and long-running stories reaching their climax... except that didn't really happen this year. We've seen a wide range of opinions on this year's 'big week', and although we sit somewhere in the middle, we must admit that it didn't quite live up to our hopes for the week. Yes, Gemma's wedding was lovely and the dress was absolutely perfect for her; yes, the performances from the various actors reacting to Paul's news were all spot on; and yes, the courtroom drama ramped up nicely on Friday. But we still can't feel like things could have been bigger, especially when it came to the acid attack story, which felt it took a little too long to get going - plus the less said about that kiss at the end of the week the better! Come on Daisy - it took us a long time to warm up

  • Listener Questions

    01/06/2023 Duración: 01h31min

This week's bonus podcast is another Listener Question segment! First up, we ponder who on Corrie is being underused at the moment, and with a huge cast of characters to choose from, there are bound to be a few that get short changed. Are they ones we really mind not seeing much of, though? After that, we're asked about product placement on Corrie, which has been a thing ever since Dev introduced those Nationwide ATMs into the Corner Shop over a decade ago. What do we think of it, and which brands would we suggest Corrie should work with if it was looking for a new partner?

  • Conversation Street Episode 577

    27/05/2023 Duración: 02h54min

On our latest podcast, we chat about the episodes of Corrie shown in the UK between the 22nd and the 26th May 2023 (Episodes #10960 - 10965). This week's podcast really was a case of finding some light in the darkness because by 'eck, wasn't that a grim set of episodes? Not that the scripts or performances were poor or anything, but it just seemed like there wasn't a lot of happiness for anyone! Top of the misery list, of course, was Paul, whose worsening condition causes him to be a bit of a party pooper at the stag and hen do on Wednesday. We just hope that Gemma and Chesney can have a happy wedding next week before the news of Paul's MND spreads further... Also this week, Craig and Tim were left teary eyed when Faye made the decision to do a classic Corrie flit and move to Slough with Miley and Jackson. Meanwhile, Roy suffers angina attacks, Hope's dumped by Sam after she sabotages Eliza's birthday party and Daisy is getting anxious about next week's big court case.  In The Kabin, we take a look at the nom

  • Faye Windass Character Profile Revisit

    25/05/2023 Duración: 01h38min

Back in Episode #101 of the podcast, we ran a character profile of a young Faye Windass and her first few years on the Street. For this week's bonus show, as Faye leaves Weatherfield, sloping off to Slough with Jackson and Miley, we take a look at what she's been up to in the nine years since. A teenage pregnancy, a prison sentence, early menopause, and of course being caught up as a minor character in the villainous tales of Pat Phelan and Geoff Metcalfe... it's been an eventful decade for Faye, and one that has given us plenty to chat about as we say a one final goodbye to her.

  • Conversation Street Episode 576

    20/05/2023 Duración: 02h35min

On our latest podcast, we chat about what went on in Weatherfield between the 15th and the 19th May 2023 (Episodes #10954 - 10959). Overall, we felt this was a bit of a 'treading water' week, to be honest - not necessarily poor episodes (although the heavy focus on Faye and Craig on Friday definitely wasn't that exciting) - but fairly slow plot development or things we felt we'd seen before. Daisy's still pretending to be Crystal, Paul's still wanting to keep his diagnosis a secret, Max is still finding prison life hard, Faye still can't decide whether to leave Craig or not... Sure, the Amy story has taken a bit of a turn, what with Abi now believing her and Eric suing her for her so-called libellous comments about his son, and Linda returning for the run-up to the wedding was fun, but overall.. just not much for us to get our teeth into, discussion-wise! Still, we're only a few weeks away from BGT week, so hopefully there's some exciting stuff on the horizon! The big news this week, of course, was the offici

  • 5 Reasons You Need To Go On The Coronation Street Experience

    19/05/2023 Duración: 01h07min

Coronation Street: The Tour has evolved! From June 11th, you'll be able to visit The Coronation Street Experience, which not only lets you a trip down the cobbles, but also includes a tour around the brand new indoor exhibition space, featuring interior sets, famous props and more! In this podcast, which includes our discussion about our recent trip to set as well as interviews with people working on the tour, we tell you five reasons why you need to book yourselves a ticket on the Coronation Street Experience.

  • Conversation Street Episode 575

    13/05/2023 Duración: 02h04min

On our latest episode of the podcast, we chat about the episodes of Corrie shown in the UK between the 8th and the 12th May (Episodes #10948 - 10953). It may play havoc with the order that we can discuss things on the podcast, but we must admit, we do love it when storylines cross over in unexpected ways. Max ending up being the key to Daniel finding out about Daisy's catfishing malarkey was a neat twist - though it did provide yet more evidence (as if we needed it!) that Daniel really isn't fit to teach... Also this week, Sarah's coquettish faux rebuttals of Damon's advances turned into a full-on Bistro bonkathon on Monday - surely a pregnancy has got to be on the cards now? Meanwhile, Amy discovers Aaron's back with Mia, Paul gets his sentencing date, and Fiz heads off to Norfolk. We were in a bit of a mad dash to get this recorded today so we had to forego news and feedback to get the episode out on time, but no doubt they'll be back next week!

  • Celebs On The Street

    09/05/2023 Duración: 01h55min

For this week's bonus podcast, we take a look at some of the famous faces who've appeared on Coronation Street over the years, either as cameos or going onto play regular characters. Inspired, of course, by newly crowned King Charles, who made an appearance on Corrie for its 40th anniversary, we chat about which characters we enjoyed the most, ponder whether celebrity castings are a good move for the show or not, and also take a look at a few actors who appeared in Corrie before going on to bigger things elsewhere!

  • Conversation Street Episode #574

    06/05/2023 Duración: 02h38min

On our latest podcast, we chat about the episodes of Corrie shown in the UK between the 1st and the 5th May (#10942 - 10946). This week, Paul turns to increasingly desperate measures to get himself out of debt - can Dee Dee help him stay on the straight and narrow, and will she convince him to confide in his family about his diagnosis? Perhaps he should take a tip out of Stephen's book, whose latest scheme to get his hands on a load of cash seems to be to bump off Elaine and claim on her life insurance... or could love rival Owen end up being his next victim instead? Also this week, we get an update on how Max is doing behind bars, Amy struggles to cope when she takes a trip on the bus, and the residents band together to voice their concerns about the late night Bistro opening proposals. Up next it's The Kabin, where we take a look at the Corrie characters and storylines that have made their way onto the British Soap Awards shortlist, and we finish things off with more listener feedback. • Maud Grimes Character Profile

    02/05/2023 Duración: 01h25min

For our latest bonus podcast, we're doing a character profile of legendary 90s battleaxe Maud Grimes. Appearing in nearly 500 episodes of Corrie, Maud was a brilliantly meddlesome mother-in-law to Reg Holdsworth, but also had some heartbreaking emotional moments too. Although she definitely has her fans, we can't help but feel like she doesn't always get the credit she deserves, so we're here to put that right!

  • Conversation Street Episode #573

    29/04/2023 Duración: 02h30min

On our latest edition of the podcast, we chat about what went on in Weatherfield between the 24th and the 28th April (Episodes #10936 - 10941). We all knew it was coming, but that didn't stop Paul's diagnosis on Wednesday's episode of Corrie hitting us hard. The young builder is now facing a very difficult, and likely very short, future, and Peter Ash has been fantastic at portraying Paul's grief as he is forced to face up to the fact that he could only have a few years, or even fewer, left. Thank goodness for the lovely friendship he's fostered with Dee Dee, which has been the one shining light in this tale of woe! And speaking of misery, things have been pretty bleak for Amy this week too. Not only does she have to come face to face with Aaron at Nina's birthday party, but she also ends up in hospital after drinking herself unconscious in Victoria Gardens! Thank goodness she had serial passer outer Summer there to share some tips for staying alive! Also this week, Stephen nearly claims a pair of new victims

  • Listener Questions

    25/04/2023 Duración: 01h11min

For this week's bonus podcast, we're answering two more of your listener questions! First, listener Tam asks us which character's house we'd want to go round for dinner. There's lots to consider there... Do we like the person? Are they likely to be a good chef? Are they likely to be a good host? It may be difficult there to pick just one! After that, with King Charles III's coronation on the horizon, listener Mel has asked us to come up with Corrie equivalents for the members of the royal family. Is there a Weatherfield version of Charles himself? A self-imposed outcast like Harry? Popular couple William and Kate? Even... Prince Andrew? We see what we can do - and you already know Gemma can talk for England about the royals!

  • Conversation Street Episode 572

    22/04/2023 Duración: 02h56min

On our latest edition of the podcast, we chat about the episodes of Corrie broadcast in the UK between the 17th and the 21st April 2023 (Episodes #10930 - 10935) There were emotional scenes aplenty this week, with the removal of Ryan's dressings and his having to come to terms with his new appearance providing some really excellent telly - just how will he react when he eventually finds out that Daisy is masquerading as Crystal via text to try and keep his spirits up, though? Meanwhile, after months of very much being Eliza do-little, Stu's granddaughter finally gets herself a bit of screen time - and is there a bit of a spark between her and Sam? Hope's not going to be happy when she finds out! Also this week, Jackson and Faye kiss, Kirk walks out on Beth after finding out about her secret meetings with Marco, and despite his secret engagement to Elaine, Stephen definitely seems to be holding a torch for a certain flame-haired landlady... In The Kabin, we get excited about the upcoming This Morning Coronatio

  • Vinta Morgan Interview

    20/04/2023 Duración: 28min

In this week's bonus podcast, we're joined by actor Vinta Morgan, who's been playing entrepreneurial uncle Ronnie Bailey for the past few years on Coronation Street. Vinta talks to us about what it means to get a role on the legendary soap, his relationship with the cast and an upcoming charity event that he's getting involved in. If you'd like to support Vinta, his JustGiving page can be accessed at the link below: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/Vinta-Morgan?utm_source=whatsapp&utm_medium=fundraising&utm_content=Vinta-Morgan&utm_campaign=pfp-whatsapp&utm_term=c666b990fe6c4017a56bb6e9c6cae59d

  • Conversation Street Episode 571

    15/04/2023 Duración: 03h16min

On our latest podcast, we chat about what went down in week spanning the 10th to the 14th April (Episodes #10924 - 10929), and we're not just talking about Sarah's knickers. Yes, that naughty little strumpet has dropped her drawers for Damon, and it didn't take much persuasion, did it? And with her also enjoying a late night bonkathon with Adam on Wednesday evening, could we be seeing a 'Who's The Daddy?' story on the horizon..? Meanwhile, Rufus is left swimming with the fishes after pushing Stephen too far - though we have a feeling the finger will be pointed squarely at Michael for this one! Also this week, Roy loses one bat-mad buddy but gains a new furry friend, Carla visits Ryan at the hospital and George is a money lender to Glenda. In the Kabin segment of the podcast, we take a look at the longlist for the viewer voted categories in the British Soap Awards and with up Corrie's chances, and we finish things off with more of your fabulous feedback. • Conversation Street Episode 570

    08/04/2023 Duración: 03h39min

On this podcast, we chat about the episodes of Corrie showing in the UK between the 3rd and the 7th April (Episodes #10918 - 10923). This week, Paul is given the devastating news that his symptoms may be signs of motor neurone disease. That's right, it's time for another tragic Corrie illness storyline! We're sure Peter Ash will do an amazing job with it - and he certainly gave a heart wrenching performance this week - but is this kind of thing really what viewers are wanting to watch right now? Meanwhile, from one sad story to another, the news spreads that Amy is saying she was raped by Aaron. Very interesting to see which characters take which side here.. though we're definitely a bit surprised that some viewers are picking Team Aaron, too..! Also this week, an old friend of Glenda's arrives on the cobbles, Craig is worried about Faye and Jackson's developing friendship, and Damon claims he's turning over a new leaf - but do we believe him? Up next it's time for The Kabin, where we rate Corrie's April Fool

  • Summer Spellman Character Profile

    04/04/2023 Duración: 01h37min

For our bonus podcast this week, we take a look at the character of Oxford hopeful and serial fainter Summer Spellman. Now eagle-eyed viewers might have noticed this young lady appearing a fair bit on our screen over the past twelve months or so, but it's not always been like this! In fact, it wasn't so long ago that years could go by with Summer barely making an appearance on the cobbles... so what happened? In this episode, we take a look at the highs (cannabis brownies) and lows (face planting on Billy's carpet again) of Corrie's current tragedy magnet, and ponder what the future might have in store for her.

  • Conversation Street Episode 569

    01/04/2023 Duración: 03h40min

On our latest podcast, we chat about the episodes of Corrie shown in the UK between the 27th and the 31st March 2023 (Episodes #10912 - 10917). Christina wasn't wrong when she said that wedding was cursed, was she? In a twist that frankly makes Mavis and Derek's double jilting look like nothing more than a minor hiccup, Justin returned to the cobbles on Monday night, intent on dousing Daisy in acid - but it's poor Ryan that ends up with a faceful of the stuff. Superb performances all round and a brilliant script from Ian Kershaw certainly made Monday's harrowing trip to Weatherfield one we won't be forgetting in a hurry! And to be honest, a lot of the rest of the week was similarly bleak too, especially the Amy storyline, as she opens up about the rape to her family and the police - who, in typical Weatherfield fashion, are able to do very little to keep Aaron of the streets. Meanwhile, Brian finds out he's 8% Italian (and 92% Buffoon?), Michael inadvertently throws a spanner in the works for Stephen at the f

  • The Changing Sets Of The Rovers Return

    30/03/2023 Duración: 01h34min

In this episode, we take a look at the Rovers Return, and how the nation's most iconic pub has changed over the years. From the wobbly wooden frontage of the 60s to the double upstairs windowed modern incarnation, the Rovers has come a long way in the past 60 years, inside and out. The bar, the back room, the cellar… even the toilets!
