Good Brews Bad Views

For our first episode of 2017 we continue our series of “Terrible 3rd movie in an otherwise good movie series” with Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome. Out of all the things to add to post-apocalyptic Australia, child actors were what was needed. And Tina Turner.

The only thing more confusing than the consistency of Gerard Butler’s accent in the 2016 movie London Has Fallen is why this movie was shot on so many sets from The Dark Knight Rises. Featuring a lot of the same actors no less.

Things are shaken up a little for this episode as Max, Ryan, and James all go into Santa’s Slay completely blind, not having watched the movie beforehand in an experiment we like to call Good Brews Blind Views. Wrestling fans can rejoice on this episode featuring  Bill Goldberg, of WCW/WWE fame. Prepare yourself for curling.

Just how do the 19th century Transylvanian peasantry get such luscious looking hair? Why does director Stephen Sommers like head wounds so much? Why is this movie so pink? Enjoyer of mango-habanero cider and friend of the show Jess joins the GBBV Crew to ponder such questions and many more in 2004's Van Helsing.

There are more than a few movies titled Jack Frost. You probably know of the one starring Michael Keaton as a harmonica playing CGI Snowdad. This is not that movie. This is a straight-to-VHS killer snowman movie.

Long before we found him annoying in those Mac vs PC commercials, but before he was subjected to a walrus suit, we had to deal with a very annoying Justin Long in Jeepers Creepers. How annoying you may ask? “You don’t understand!"

Tired of listening to Max, James, and Ryan prattle on about beer and movies? Then fear not, as friend of the show Jordan joins in to try and figure just what the hell was going on in Spider-Man 3.

Imagine a simpler time, 2009, where Hollywood executives decided to base a movie off of First Person Shooter box art and their perception of social media. The result: Gamer.

For this episode Max, Ryan, and James tackle the Batman movie from the 1990s that no one ever talks about: Batman Forever. Scrubbing away nearly all of Tim Burton's influence and giving the Dark Knight a 40 year old sidekick, the only way this movie could have had more neon is if they filmed it in an actual laser tag arena.

Deep Rising: a cheesey B-movie that we had way too much fun watching multiple times and would gladly watch again. Enjoy the gun fondling, skeleton depositories, and high stakes jet skiing action.

For this episode we endure "Dude Where's My Car?" a movie best described as the Death Throes of the 1990s that really wishes it was American Pie. Hail Zoltan!

For this episode Max, Ryan, and James endure the lack of color and Jason Statham’s terrible tattoos in Death Race, a movie best described as dystopian Mario Kart where everyone scowls.

For our actual debut episode we take a look at the 1994 live adaptation of everyone's favorite 1960s cartoon influenced by a 1950s live action TV series. Prepare yourself for Rock Jokes, so many Rock Jokes.

After several months of beating around the bush, yard, park, city, county, etc. Good Brews Bad Views is live! We'll be bringing you somewhat drunken commentary/ramblings two or three times a month that you can watch along with your favorite bad movies. Better yet you can listen to each episode sans movie to hear the lovely voices of Max, James, and Ryan as you commute to your soul crushing job, train for that 5K you'll never do, or clean up after the pets who have destroyed your home. But wait you say, how did this entire fiasco come about? Well fear not as we've recorded an episode to answer that very question.
