It seems redundant these days to report on Apple’s finances when you could record it once with a “Apple made record revenue and profits this year blah blah blah” and call it a day. There’s a nugget there though while not new, continues to astound the once hardware-heavy tech giant and that’s Services. This quarter, that’s where nearly 25% of all revenue Apple generated came from.

What do you call it when you travel for four days to spend two days at an event? Something Guy would do. For some reason, Facebook is unhappy that Apple doesn't let them track iPhone users with all the things they do. Sure it cost them 12 billion to lose that, but what's 12 billion between friends?.

Gaz is off doing fun stuff and left Guy all on his own, a dangerous proposition no matter how you look at it. However, he (Guy) was also smart (for once) and invited David Ginsburg from the “In Touch with iOS” podcast to join in and give his thoughts on the upcoming WWDC which while still some time away, hasn’t stopped people from talking about it.

Oh just relax internet censors, we’re talking about computer speed for gosh sakes. The great debate over whether Apple’s benchmarks comparing an M1 Ultra Mac Studio to a similar Intel-based computer has fans on both sides dragging up all the old arguments of Mac vs PC. Many are saying at best Apple exaggerated and many others claiming Apple out and out lied. The GMen say, stop getting your underwear in such a twist. Maybe going forward for most people it just won’t matter. Or maybe that time has already come.

When it comes to upgradability, Apple’s devices going back well into the Intel years have not exactly been the best examples. Even the simple things like RAM and storage have been missing from most of Apple’s lineup for many years. Looking forward into the M-processor years, this isn’t likely to change much and there are some very good, if not extremely frustrating reasons why.

Man that Apple event was really something wasn’t it? Too bad nearly everything Guy predicted was utterly and almost to the point incorrect. Fortunately according to the many worlds theory as proposed by the famed Polish theoretical physicist Wojciech (WOJ-SEE-ETCH) H. Zurek, in one universe as defined by Quantum Mechanics not only was Guy correct about every prediction, but he did so while eating chocolate ice cream and dancing the Fandango surrounded by former Playboy Bunnies. So he’ll take that as a win…in some other universe

It’s always exciting when an Apple event is right around the corner and while we don’t do “rumors” per se, we do like to speculate on what Apple goodies might be just around the corner. It’s less immediate than a traffic accident and more trustworthy than…well…idiot analysts popping off about the specs of the 2024 iPhone 15. Also we know when we’re wrong and admit to it as compare to idiot analysts

It’s our 600th-ish podcast and MAN do we have some exciting stuff for you! If by exciting, we mean really more or less a regular show. While this is a significant milestone for us, it pales in comparison to what’s going on in the Ukraine as we record. We aren’t going to bring a lot of coverage as we aren’t about general news and politics, but for what it’s worth, we dedicate this episode to brave people of the Ukraine and wish them well. There's also an extra long after show with a live call in from Guy's son...um...Guy

Maybe “lies” is a bit strong, but we’ve yet to see any kind of announcement officially for an event that is 3 weeks away according to sources. Of course in these days of spectacular events that no one is allowed to go to and can be done by a guy hitting a “play” button while on his smoke break it isn’t beyond the realm of possibilities either.

Seems like every week there’s a new story about a security break down between our smart devices and reportedly unintended consequences of the apps we use and auxiliary features and hardware those apps use. Case in point, this week it’s the popular conferencing app Zoom.

Other than lot’s of political wailing about one thing or another there’s not much to talk about this week, but we’ll manage. Some cool Sci-Fi is coming to the small screen. Also Guy got a new chair so no more squeaks and a new microphone so lot's more beeps

A mandatory Android and iOS app for all Olympic athletes and visitors for the 2022 Winters games allegedly can listen in with no prompting from the user. However it makes up for this by storing and sending personal information like GPS data, any medical history, contact information, and so on to unknown servers unencrypted. So it’s got that going for it.

connectivity and low power wireless standards all jumbled together to make an internet of things word salad less confusing. As an added bonus, even stuff not designed to work together should if the proper protocols are followed. Get it? Well we're not sure either, but the GMen will bumble and stumble their way to a greater understanding and we're taking you along for the ride! Also don't forget we need you to insult us in the worst way for our upcoming 600th episode and that's no sausage!

600th podcast is coming up so you need to write or record the most insulting (but keep it clean) you can say about the GMen to possibly win a fabulous prize! Would love to tell you what it will be but we not real sure yet.

CES 2022 is over and apparently wasn’t as huge as it’s been in years past. Obviously the never ending-demic is the culprit, but there were still some cool things released for Apple related products and the GMen will discuss that with absolutely no expertise at all! Also spoiler alert if you haven't seen the new James Bond flick, don't listen to the after show. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

A quiet year in general since most people were discouraged from going anywhere and Apple wasn’t immune either. So let's take a walk down memory lane at the world of Apple in the year 2021. Also more phone calls!

Gaz and Guy are going to share with you their opinions of some of the new features built into the latest versions of iOS and MacOS. Some of those opinions like those features will likely stink. Also, remember Guy complaining that no one was using the Skype call number? People did and Guy didn’t know because sometimes he’s dumb.

Yeah we know Apple is coming out with new Macs all sporting the latest M-designed chips, but what will they call them? So far there hasn’t been much in the way of originality when it comes to naming conventions for Apple devices (Air and Pro being the most innovative sheesh) and there likely won’t be much this go round either…or will there be?

Sorry about that bit of bad language at the beginning of the show last week. Why are the GMen wasting time recording a podcast on Black Friday when we or AppleTV could be getting deals of a LIFETIME!?! Because it’s the same boring ho-hum nonsense from every year. “Special one day only deals” that seem to last a week on stuff we don’t really want anyway. Instead we’ll talk about the differences between the AppleTV, AppleTV, PLUS AppleTV!
