Berk Reviews Top Five Movies Episode 053 - Biopics. In honor of the release of All Eyes on Me, Jonathan, Corey, and Michael ranked their favorite Biopics. Katz and is adapted from a David Zeltserman novel by Katz and Macon Blair.  Starring in the film are Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Robert Forster, Jacki Weaver, Molly Parker, Gary Cole, Michael Kinney, and Blair. The film is directed by Jean-Pierre Jeunet, who also directed Alien: Resurrection, and stars Audrey Tautou, Mathieu Kassovitz, Rufus, Serge Merlin, Jamel Debbouze, and Dominique Pinon. Both Corey and Jon are fans of this film, but Jon has put it on his top twenty movies ever. We lucked out that Alien: Resurrection was on that list and neither of us had ever watched it. Since Alien: Covenant was coming out it made perfect sense and so we checked it out. Movie Club Episode 019 - Synecdoche New York is written and directed by Charlie Kaufman starring Philip Seymour Hoffman, Samantha Morton, Michelle Williams, Tom Noonan, Catherine Keener, Hope Davis, and Jennifer Jason Leigh. Corey has never seen this film and Jonathan had only seen it once. They invited Brendan back to the podcast as this is one of his favorite film. The conversation gets fairly deep as this film is a dense one. Next week: Episode 20 The next episode Jonathan and Corey will both be watching Alien Resurrection for the first time. This film was chosen because it came out 20 years ago so it fits for episode 20. Plus, Alien Covenant comes out on May 19. It seems like a good time to check out this mostly reviled film. Episode 047 of Top Five Movies this week is a little different. Jonathan, Corey, and Michael are taking a chance and making a wager for the 2017 Summer Movies. Using a draft format, each of them chose a team of five summer movies that they think will perform well financially and critically. They earn points based on the amount of money times the Metacritic score of the film (used as a percent). For example, if the movie makes $100,000,000 and has a 70 Meteoritic score than the player gets 70 points. Each player also chose a wild card as number 6.
