Vancouver Canucks 1st round pick Vasily Podkolzin with help from Canucks Russian Scout Sergei Chibisov translating joined Matt Sekeres and Blake Price. Podkolzin says he's very excited to be a member of the Vancouver Canucks.

Leading up to the Canucks first round pick there was plenty of intrigue with how the picks were falling. They selected winger Vasili Podkolzin at 10. Jeff Paterson, Mike Halford, Jason Brough, Matt Sekeres and Blake Price break it all down.

Alex Burrows joined Matt Sekeres and Blake Price on location at the draft at Rogers Arena. He says it's extra special to receive this honour from the Canucks and to be permanently immortalized along side the Sedins. .

Chicago Blackhawks GM and member of Team USA staff Stan Bowman joined Jon Abbott and Dave Tomlinson between periods. He discussed what he's seen so far at the World Championships. And says the Blackhawks are getting close to being ready for the upcoming draft in Vancouver where they will pick 3rd.

Jake Virtanen says he is willing to play of the left side next season. Ben Hutton says this was a comeback season for him and he gain his confidence back. Quinn Hughes says he wants to get stronger and fast this summer. Antoine Roussel says it would be nice present if he was back from his ACL injury around Christmas.

Chris Tanev says it was a frustrating season with all the injuries. Jacob Markstom says he sees a light at the end of the tunnel after a couple of disappointing season. Luke Schenn was grateful for the opportunity he had to get back in the NHL with the Canucks.

Brandon Sutter gives an update on his injury. Alex Edler say he wants re-sign with the Canucks. Loui Eriksson says he tried to do his best in the situations the coaches put him in. Tanner Pearson happy with the opportunity he got in Vancouver.

Bo Horvat, Elias Pettersson, Brock Boeser and Troy Stecher met with the media. Horvat says he doesn't think he's hit his peak and wants to continue improving his two-way game. Pettersson says the biggest thing he learned this year is how to manage his body with so many games with not a lot of rest. Boeser says he wants to improve his speed this off-season.

Jim Benning and Travis Green gave their year end press conference and both stressed that the Canucks took a step this season, still have a lot of work to do but are excited for the future. Jim says they hope to re-sign Alex Edler as he's a leader on and off the ice, adding they've had internal conversations about a possible extension with Jacob Markstrom. Green says there's no magic formula for getting better but did say goal differential is a big factor for next year.
