Not For Nothin'

We have a lot to be thankful for this week don't we? Oh let us count the ways: The family thing is a given I guess, but making sexual innuendos about your friends mom, while also discussing a certain head football coaches sexual predilections... Celebrating the Thor the bulldogs win at the dog show... Plus, Chris looking for work with a future sudo-defunct arena football team... A big thanks to the Winnepeg Blue Bombers for winning the Grey Cup in like probably forever... We're thankful for the intern, even if you are missing. Besides we want to start a curling team with you... Then we have to give thanks for Melo... Of course it wouldn't be Thanksgiving without giving the biggest thanks of all, to week 13 of the NFL season and really bad gambling.

Since the show as a new intro(funky-fresh, dope beat right?), they boys have a bit of a requiem for their old (illegal) show tracks. Which of course leads to the greatest TV show idea since Steven Bochco's Cop Rock....with a little Aly McBeal sprinkled in. That's all I can say legally. They dive even deeper before acknowledging Carmelo Anthony's existence back in the Association. Feels like one of those alternate timelines in a comic book, doesn't it? For the coup-de-gras, they finish you off with their week 12 picks.

It's a sad week in the NFL as we have to say goodbye to Gardner (Fu) Minshew - he lost his starting spot to "The Closer" Nick Foles. We say goodbye to Myles Garett for a long while, while also saying goodbye to Mason Rudolphs head. The one silver-lining to all this is we get to say hello to Melo once again (although the boys don't actually acknowledge his return. So typical, but then do we really care?). Other than that it might be time for the guys to say goodbye to their winning record picking games for the season.

James Harden, strips clubs & Lebron's hairline. This show has got it all. Plus celebrity boxing match break-down. All that and they give you their week 10 NFL picks for free. That's right it's free. Who else is doing that? No one is dumb enough to do that.

Baseball is so bad, you can't sex it up no matter what. People are literally trying to add sex into the games and people still didn't watch this World Series. I guess we've found the one thing sex can't sell. After a thorough and deep dive into porn in baseball, the boys only have time to talk a little basketball and then get into week 9 picks, which their still bad at. This episode might be long, slow and boring, but at least you don't need a vibrator to enjoy it... wait, would that help?

The boys start off strong, going down the dumb-ass rabbit hole about how to determine time and and how old we really are. What a way to celebrate ones birthday. At least they don't let it get too far and end up with a three hour tour. They jump right into the mud and preview the NBA season that starts now. Then they are able to shift fairly swiftly, halfway through, into making week eight picks in the NFL.

Ep. 159 Not for Nothin' 2019 NFL Week 7 Picks by Kris and Chris

Chris is in Paris having drank seven bottles of wine and sitting in the kitchen of his airbnb. I think it's as sad as it sounds. It's best to keep this one short. I'm sure most of you will appreciate that. So they just make picks for week 6 of this crazy dumb NFL season. Merci!

Just another day in paradise. Well, except when it comes to gambling. Boy, week 4 was a really stinker. But against all odds, they will push forth because they feel like there's something in the air tonight. Now that these two are leading separate lives, it's still a groovy kind of love and in all honesty they're an easy lover for the gambling gods. Seriously, all they need is one more night to get back on track and win, right? right? Of course the one things they can't do, is a show that's under 60 minutes. But I don't care anymore... sussudio!

Rambling, rumbling, bumbling, stumbling. That's what these guys do better than anyone. So why not try for a third hour-and-a-half show. Who needs to worry about what to talk about, sh*t will just come out. speaking of which, why not talk about politics and then baseball - and the playoffs that are about to start - when that's the last thing you want to talk about it. At least they come together to rail against the potential remake of "New Jack City." Stop trying to remake iconic movies, you can't do it. Finally they get to making week 4 picks, and actually decide to follow a trend of road teams dominating the spread. They'll get it wrong this week, won't they?

After loosing an icon last week and paying their respects - it's time to do it again. This time they say goodbye to a legend who left us all too soon (actually, if was three years too late, but nows not the time). Fortunately, every time a Manning is put down, an angel gets its wings - and the angel is the Mississippi Mustache that has Duval County and the rest of the country wanting a mustache ride. That's right the pride of the Palouse, Gardner Minshew! C & K also have a lot of confidence (11-5 for week 2) in themselves trying to pick week 3 games, but you know that's a mistake.

Kris travels all the way to Pittsburgh to do a live show with Chris. This is true love people. Plus the Seahawks are Playing the Steelers, so that might be the real reason. As a bonus, the intern Peter decides to come out into the world and join in on the fun! They get into some topics - it's hard to keep track, so just give a listen (it's a long one again). Plus their famed week 2 picks - since they did so well the first week. As added pressure, they're putting their picks up against Peter children. We all know how this is going to turn out.

Man these two are really good at the art of talking about nothing, right? If it wasn't football season, the househusbands could do a whole show on Kelly Clarkson and her new daytime talk show. But unfortunately, its business time. So put on your business socks, cause its time to make some money... er, at least break even? That's also our new slogan: Not For Nothin' but you'll do alright. They make their playoff teams predictions - here's a hint, Chris is telling you to trust the Prosise... and the NFC South shall rise again (they always say that). Then it's time to pick every single game of week 1. If you follow their strategy closely, you can't go broke. This episode is so jammed pack with gamblings advice it should have been broken up into two episodes (usually they do, lazy good for nothin...).

The Househusbands are back talking car shopping, reviewing season 2 of Mindhunter (what was going on in that bathroom?), then move on gas station boner pill use in baseball and other stupid PED usage in competitions that shouldn't. They also want to bring back the Pan Am games, especially compared to the publicity and promotion of The Little League World Series. Which they also figure might be one of the most degenerative things to gamble on, right? They get around to talking football and Lucks retirement, while trying to decide on how to badly gambling on all this. So get some rope, ballet slippers and a baby mask, go buy enhancement pills from the gas station cause this episode is very satisfying.

Chris calls-in from the Admirals Club inside the Denver airport, griping about plane problems. Then moves on to describing those hot August nights in Libby Montana, where everyone is "putting the gut." As Chris said himself, "It was more insane than I could have ever imagined." He passes along his cousins prediction for the NFL season. The only problem is, he's Canadian so we'll have to take it at a discount. They tackle the hard seltzer craze and then smoothly segue into the Jay-Z NFL debacle. And just to make sure they finish off on a lighter note, they make fun of Jerry Jones.

After three years and 149 episodes the boys decide to step it up a notch and join 2014 in using social media to engage anyone who'll listen. They also throw out the idea of their friends or listeners creating a new intro/theme song for them. Doubt it'll happen. Chris fills us in on his upcoming MAGA trip to Montana, where he'll try to do burnouts in his dads Mustang. They do their own Rutger Hauer eulogy focusing on the man's most under-appreciated movie, Blind Fury. They do talk baseball - they have they're own angle on the Pirates-Reds brawls from a few weeks back of couple. Way to keep it current. Also why is anyone suing over a mascot? What the hell is that all about. They round out the show with football talk and more bad gambling on NFL season props. Chicks love the long-shots.

Kris decides to stop eating a bowl of pasta and drinking two bottles of white wine with each meal in Italy (it wasn't easy)and come home and do a show. Chris is working on a Opera about the famed(?) Gamblero. and gives his Netflix documentary recommendations. It's kind of a slow start, but what else is new when Kris comes back from vacation. Chris has a great t-shirt idea, which leads them into talking NBA. Didn't see that coming. Come on guys, it's August and they just played the damn Hall of Fame game. Let's talk some Football and Bad Gambling! That's what this whole show is supposed to be about. Although they end the show talking themselves into betting on the Bucs, Bills and the Raiders. So maybe this wasn't a good idea after all.

This episode is potpourri of meth-gators and dumb people in sports. Just listen there seems to be a theme through every topic of conversation. I defy you to say differently. Anyways, I don't care, cause I'm off on a European Vacation. Ciao bitches!

This is the only time we'll try to mention Stranger Things on this pod. But honestly how has no-one tried to write an article describing or comparing how NBA Free Agency is like a season of Stranger Things? Although I'm sure The Ringer will have one up soon now... you're welcome? Obviously these two guys do talk about the latest crazy of free agency, reignite the dream of OKC back to Seattle (without Chris Paul of course) and then celebrate the dawn of robot...er, electronic umpires in baseball. Thank god for the Atlantic League. There's also a documentary recommendation from Chris that I'm sure Kris will never remember to watch.

This isn't really an emergency post-free agent frenzy podcast, but more a celebration of all things that are great with America right now in honor of this nations birthday. Things like, NBA free agency, Women's World Cup Soccer team, gambling in Pittsburgh with your interns and finding heroin on Cape Cod because your spending time with the in-laws. That really sums up the the whole show, so light up those sparklers, roman candles and snakes... and have the burn cream near by. U-S-A, U-S-A, U-S-A!
