Not For Nothin'

Do you want a show that only breaks down the NBA Finals? No, because that's just boring. We go in on expiration dates, stupid milk cartons, hydroponic lettuce and Chinese prison Garlic. And that's only the first twenty minutes of the show. But we also discuss the worst thing to happen to sports since the Seven Nation Army "anthem." We talk so much that we barely have time for NBA Finals and we even forget to gamble on game 2. You really gotta try this lettuce and Chris's father in-laws garlic though. We put that sh*t on everything.

Nobody Celebrates Bobby Bonilla Day quite like we do. We're diving into Cryo freezing, fireworks sucks, Julia Roberts best movies(it's Notting Hill right?), being a tiktok correspondant. Then we masterfully segue into sports - dealing with the hipocracy of basketball coaching hires, Lou Will a legit Hall of Fame, Chris Paul, Patrick Beverly and Clippers hate. Plus, enjoying the Hawks without Trae Young. The big question of the day though, will Chris be all in on one more stupid spring league football rebirth?

Kris starts off with a traumatizing story of early 80's child abuse in something called a department store... whatever that is. After the tears, they once again laugh at the stupidity of Major League Baseball making something worse that was already terrible. Kris tries to get Chris interested in the Summer Olympics, they find a rooting interest in the NHL playoffs. Plus they warn the NBA that it's stupid rules and fouling will turn their sport into baseball. That's not a good thing. In the end, Chris makes a crazy bet that just might be ingenious.

It's Hump Day, which means we're not really looking to do much work on the show. We talk about dogs. Of course Kris as another story to share about that. Where are all these coming from? We get into skateboarders and Hawaiian... I mean Aloha shirts. One sucks the other are awesome and cool . We do talk a little basketball and gamble on them. At least those have been paying off.

The only thing scarier than bats and snakes for these two are the Utah Jazz fans. What would that phobia be called? Chris doesn't fix baseball this time around, but he does have a great idea to make it infinitely more fun and entertaining. It's pretty great...he's good at these actually. They talk NBA playoffs and rooting for any team except the Jazz or the Clippers. Kris changes his mind and thinks it Ben Simmons who needs to go now, not Embiid. They end the show trying to gamble their way out of having to work for a living. Neither one is going the way they want.

This episode takes a very dark turn and doesn't look back. And that's just the the Celtics decision to promote Brad Stevens portion of the show. We do get into allergy medications, horrible bus trips and Kris finally decides to share a really dark story from his past. Geez man, that's what you decide to open up about? The happier topics include Coach K retiring, the Seattle Storm making the right kind of promotion and of course gambling. That's fun, right?

They boys are back and telling ghost stories. But not the good kind. Chris got a subscription to Good Housekeeping from beyond the grave, while Kris is being haunted by the previous owner. His getting Vermonting. We just made that up. It's gonna be a thing... or a movie maybe. Eventually this leads to sports. The disrespecting of players by fans and even their own coaches. Also can we just have more women coaches, please?! They talk through the NBA playoffs and then gamble on it a bit. They have to be doing better than the Clippers and Tyler Herro, no? Uff da, amiright?

The impossible has happened! The Knicks are good, they're in the playoffs, so we do a positive Knicks episode with special guest Mike Vorkunov. I guess we can start calling it a Knicks Rejoice? But first Chris gives us his book review on "hair metal" history. We thought Charles Grodin was already dead, but we'll give our thoughts and prayers anyway. Then we bet on what's left fo the NBA play-in tournament games, We do save the best for last, and that's Mike V talking Knicks.

It's finally here, and we can't contain our excitement! The WNBA season is underway and we'll tell you who to root for, which teams to watch and gamble on for the chip. Plus the GOAT is back for another season! How could it get any better. Oh, we do also talk NBA, and why Jokic for MVP is ridiculous. Why isn't Julius Randle getting more attention for that category? We try to continue our NBA three-team-parlay winning ways, then close out the show by bashing MLB and mocking the NHL.

We smoke one big, long, last drag of a menthol cigarette before Biden bans them for ever. That makes sense, you know instead of just banning cigarettes all together. Why fix the whole problem when you can just rub turn in the wound? Chris beautifully segues from mint flavor to the Kentucky Derby. Of course he over thinks it, but settles on three long shots. So smart, right? From gambling to ponies to the NBA is a no brainer, while "finally" giving the Knicks some love. They finish off the show by blowing through their NFL Draft preview. Although they do find Chris's QB draft crush for this year. He has a type.

We're bringing sexy back...It's the return of the Mack! After three long years away, our boy Anthony Moreno Brown returns to the pod. We couldn't be more excited to talk about nothing for an hour. We pay our respects to Shock G - the one who put the satin on your panties. We get around to questioning Anthony's fandom, try to find him a new NFL team to root for since the Steelers are about to suck. The importance of hair gets discussed, with a little basketball gambling in there to while Anthony somehow manages to be quiet. Somehow that's the show. Keep it litty everyone!

The WNBA and women's basketball is dope AF and you're blind and stupid if you don't know that by know. Give us more though, damn it! We celebrate "The Truth" losing his job, which means we all win, by not having to watch him fake his basketball knowledge anymore. Also, everyone needs to stop whining about playing games in the NBA. We finish of the pod by picks a few daily NBA games to lose money on. We also regret to inform you, due to time constraints, we only have time for one Grant Hill related topic.

Seriously, it's impossible to say goodbye to DMX right now. Can we? Should we be? It doesn't feel right. What does feel right is talking about old men in movies. Who's the next big Geezer Teaser leading man? That leads us into another stupid idea, rebooting old tv shows. I mean really, Frazier? We finally talk sports and try to gamble on the Master and an NBA game of the night. After that the shows gets really boring, cause we're talking about baseball. I think Kris actually zoned out there. Honestly, once you hear them talk about baseball, you can stop listening. It's okay.

Ep. 230 Not For Noithin' April Fools Is For Fools by Kris and Chris

Well this show went over like a fart in a balloon. Will our era ever come up with idioms or any figurative meanings like they used to do "in the good old days?" if we do, it's gonna be tech related right? Or maybe we should just be updating the old ones to fit a more modern meaning. From there we tackle the age-old question about the worst, most over-hyped white college basketball players of all time. It happens every year with one guy getting a little shine for no reason. Then we close out the show by bagging on the NBA trade deadline. That was completely overrated, huh? Then Kris drops the mic with a hot take.

This episode is a long one, and the most boring show each year, so we'll try and keep this short. The guys talk about going postal on their local mail persons. For no reason at all, they oddly celebrate the legacy of "Mr. stay in your lane" Pat Sajak. Then they give the people what they want, picking every single game in the NCAA Tournament. Get ready to bust your brackets. It's gonna be awesome baby! Unfortunately, they ran out of time to celebrate the Nets terrific win over the lowly Knicks.

We're back after a week off. One of us had a baby, the other got shingles. We debate who had a worse time. Chris makes a really good case for how to change and improve the NBA's all-star weekend. It involves gambling, of course. But it does make sense. They talk a little bit about the non-impact of Blake Griffin signing with the Nets and then parlay the only two NBA games for Wednesday. That's it, that's the show. Get used to it.

Ep. 226 Not For Nothin' Chris Gets Denzel'd by Kris and Chris

Is Thibs a good coach? Is a DRose reunion worth it? Is Immanuel Quickley the best Knicks draft pick since Mark Jackson... or Landry Fields? Can your nickname just be another persons first name? Should "Clyde" hang up the microphone? Are the Knicks really playing well enough not to lament? Apparently so, since we've rebranded this annual Knicks-themed podcast.

With no more football to discuss the guys do their version of movie & TV show reviews, calling it the "unwatchables." Kris also confesses to the world his covid-quarantine obsession. But apparently, it's the same as everyone else's. So maybe it wasn't that big of a deal. Although Chris's is crazy random and shocking. They settle all their accounts on the Super Bowl bets and then work their way into not betting on Thursdays slate of NBA games. It's gonna be a long offseason folks.
