What's Up with Water - Speaking of Water - Who Trusts the Tap (Bonus)
29/03/2018 Duración: 17minMore and more people are asking a question once thought preposterous in the United States. That question: do I trust my tap water? It turns out that the answer is very different for different groups of people. Circle of Blue's Brett Walton spoke with Asher Rosinger, an assistant professor of biobehavioral health and anthropology at Penn State University. Rosinger was the lead author for a study published in February that found minorities in the U.S. consume less tap water and are more likely to drink bottled water. “I know from personal experience that experiences around water, particularly negative ones, can change our behavior for long periods of time," Rosinger said.

UN Report Sets New Baseline for Drinking Water and Sanitation
02/08/2017 Duración: 16minIn July, the World Health Organization and UNICEF published the first assessment of drinking water and sanitation service under the sustainable development goals. Circle of Blue reporter Brett Walton spoke with Catarina Fonseca, head of the international and innovation program at IRC, a water and sanitation organization, about the report's strengthens and weaknesses as well as the successes and failures that it documents. Fonseca notes that though more people have gained access to water in recent years, those gains are unevenly distributed. "There has been progress, but the progress is not fast enough, especially on sanitation, to achieve the sustainable development goals," she says. his is HotSpots Podcast Episode 12.
