Ascension of Christ Hello St. Mary Magdalene,  Happy Solemnity of the Ascension. This weekend we celebrate with joy as Christ returns to Heaven in glory. His Ascension is a reminder for us of our call to holiness, to seek Christ in all things so that we may be with Him one day in Heaven.  Knowing that our true home is in Heaven with Christ, how will we cultivate that desire in our thoughts, words, and actions this week?  God bless,   Fr. Announcements and shout outs Hello St. Mary Magdalene,  Thank you for tuning in to this week's video. Come join us for our Eucharistic concert on May 20, 2022 at the Higley Stake Center. They've generously offered to host us while we're under renovation.  Congratulations and welcome to Catholic Daughters of the Americas, St. John Vianney Court 2779! Catholic Daughters is a group dedicated to Christian service, prayer, and community and I'm delighted to welcome them to St. Mary Magdalene.  To all of our graduates, congratulations! May the Lord use your talents and abilities to build up His Church and may He always draw you closer to yourself.  Thank you as well to all of our volunteers and catechists in religious education. We can't do it without you and your efforts are appreciated.  Lastly, Miguel Solis, a seminarian that was with us last summer is being ordained a deacon on May 29th @ 9am at St. Simon and Jude Cathedral. Please keep him in your prayers.  God bless,   Fr. Chris Visit us: https://www.smarymag

Sanctuary Update May 2022 Hello St. Mary Magdalene,  I’m here in our church amidst the renovations to give an update on our progress. As you can see we’ve laid our concrete foundation for the new sanctuary and they’ve laid the posts for our altar rail. We’ve also had the ceiling and back wall painted to match the theme of the artwork that will be installed in our sanctuary. Construction should be completed late this summer. We’re running into supply chain issues affecting the delivery of our marble and other materials. These setbacks have a cascading effect into other areas of the project which is delaying the completion of this project. What remains is the delivery and installation of the marble for the sanctuary, carpeting, the decorative woodwork, the altar rail, and final cleanup.  In order to help expedite the full use of our building again, once these items have been completed we’ll be able move back into our full church. Final elements (such as our artwork and our new altars) will be installed later. T

Mother's Day 2022 Hello St. Mary Magdalene,  To all of our mothers, thank you for all you do, especially for the tender, compassionate love you show for us.  Also, what great news coming from the supreme court! However, the work's not done, now the battle moves to the state level so we need to continue to encourage our leaders to enact pro-life policies. God bless,   Fr. Divine Mercy Sunday Hello St. Mary Magdalene,  Happy Divine Mercy Sunday. What a beautiful devotion we celebrate this weekend. Our English word "mercy" comes from the Latin word "misericors" which means "to pity the heart." Practically this term refers to when another person enters into the brokenness of another and thus share their burden. Christ therefore does just that, He enters our brokenness in order to set us free.  So, on this weekend let us recall Our Lord's desire to enter our brokenness and show us His grace in a particular way. Lord may your mercy be on us as we place our trust in you!  God bless,   Fr. Chris Visit us: https://www.smarymag.org Donate online: https://membership.faithdirect.net/AZ754

Have a blessed Good Friday! Hello St. Mary Magdalene,  Have a beautiful and prayerful Good Friday. Today we look to the Cross and rejoice as God's Love is made manifest for us and His victory over sin, death, and human weakness. He yearns for us and gives His life for us so that we might be with Him forever. Let us pray therefore for the grace to see God at work in all aspects of our life and that we may see our daily Crosses as God suffering with us in order to lead us to new life. God bless,  Fr.
