Geno Smith earned his first 'stat' of the season with a fourth-quarter comeback over the Los Angeles Rams. Unfortunately, the comeback was partly due to the Seahawks defense allowing 171 rushing yards to a Rams offense that was playing with multiple backups. However, Geno pulled it off with a big game statistically that saw Tyler Lockett and DK Metcalf both eclipsing 125 yards on the day and three total touchdown passes. Fans went into this week's game against the Raiders with the expectation for a win. It wasn't much different from the game against the struggling Tampa Bay team. So we explore why it could be that this loss hit fans a little bit harder than the one going into the bye week. There is one key stat that has led to a perfect winning formula for Seattle and it involves linebacker Cody Barton. Coming off the bye and starting on the OUT side of the ledger this week, because the Seahawks lost in overtime to a team that only had three wins on the season coming into this game. The run game struggled due to a couple players in the middle of the Seahawks offensive line, while the entire defensive line had difficulty throughout the game stopping the run and getting to the quarterback. There were a couple notable moments on the defense that ended up getting an IN and a receiver who came up with a big play that goes relatively unnoticed in the loss. The Seattle Seahawks bounced back in the second half after getting shut out by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the first half. But it was a second half turnover inside the red zone that helped doom the Seahawks to a 21-16 loss.
