This offseason has reached a new low as Brandan finds himself watching gamers play Madden competitively, but the good news is the NFL Draft is just around the corner and we'll probably see the schedule released in the next couple weeks. To help lead up to the draft the guys take a look at a few prospects that have reportedly met with the team: guard Isaac Asiata, tackle Zach Banner, tight end Antony Auclair as well as wide receivers Chad Williams and Deangelo Yancey. It's important to watch prospect visits, because based on past history, there are players among this group who will are very likely to make the team either via draft or brought in as an undrafted free agent. This week's group includes two offensive lineman and three pass catchers (one tight end, two receivers). Knowing that the team looks for unique qualities, a demonstration of grit, and leadership qualities, the guys look at each of the players through that lens. We talked a little bit about the salary cap last week as Adam concluded that there was no more money left to sign players. All the money was gone. Turns out figuring out how the salary cap works is hard, so the guys take a bit of time to talk about some of the details before getting into the latest round of free agent signings for the team. Russ emails the show to ask about the logic of allowing Hauschka to leave the team in free agency and Adam and Brandan talk about the potential impact of losing someone who has been proven to perform in clutch situations. After addressing their offensive line by signing Luke Joeckel last week, the Seahawks look to make an impact to their running game by signing Eddie Lacy. Adam and Brandan don't agree that Lacy actually improves the running game as Adam thinks the money would be better put to use on the offensive line. Wayne Henderson of the Packers Fan Podcast joins the show to offer his thoughts based on what he's seen from Lacy in his four years in Green Bay. Adam's belief is that there are several running backs in the draft the Seahawks could have taken a look at and brings up a running back from Oklahoma who broke all kinds of records. A joint playoff victory celebration as Adam and Brandan are joined by UK Sea Hawkers Ross and Adam of The Pedestrian Podcast. Seattle also got it done through the air and while nobody was shocked to see Baldwin go over 100 yards, some incredible grabs by Paul Richardson made folks (including Chris Collinswoth) wonder if Odell Beckham had suited up in Richardson's gear for this game. The defense helps get it done as well, holding the Lions out of the end zone and keeping them to two field goals. The Seahawks close out the regular season with their fifth straight 10-win season. It's an incredible accomplishment, so why do so many Seahawks fans seem down? Your Seahawks are NFC West Champions as they finally put an end to the Rams three-game win streak. It only took and entire season of reverse jinxes to give the team an assist. Though the Seahawks won convincingly, the final score of 24-3 still seemed too close and a big part was due to some questionable decisions by the Rams interim coach. There were so many things to be happy about with this Seahawks performance: the Housing Commissioner (Avril) built more houses, Doug Baldwin broke some ankles, Bennett reminded us how many pumps is too many, and Jon Ryan made "the face" again. The Seahawks continue to close out the season against NFC West opponents with their final regular season game at CenturyLink against the Arizona Cardinals. The Seahawks come away with their third loss of the season in a truly ugly game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The offense only manages to score a field goal thanks to a pass interference call on the Bucs and the defense adds a safety. Not only were there injuries on the offensive line, there was a shakeup at right tackle just one series into the game and the three rookies struggled all day to keep up with a dominating defensive line. Adam and Brandan talk about just what went wrong and a stat line from Russell Wilson that we rarely see. Just because the Carolina Panthers are 4-7 coming into this game doesn't mean they can't give the Seahawks a game for Sunday Night Football.
