Sinopsis

I first visited Walt Disney World back in 1986. I was a wide eyed teenager that just wanted to leave EPCOT Center and get back to Magic Kingdom. There are only a few pictures from that trip, not like the thousands I take on an average trip today. Today, I see Walt Disney World as the one location where my entire family can find something to smile about. No matter the age, no matter who is with us, you will find an adventure. Sams Disney Diary is simply a way for me to capture and share our memories and our latest adventures in the magic. I hope you enjoy.

  • #139: The Pixarmonic Orchestra (Disney California Adventure)

    15/11/2019 Duración: 21min

A comedic musical troupe that performed classic Pixar tunes with whimsical arrangements featuring traditional instruments along with cowbells, kazoos, duck calls, sirens and side whistles, The Pixarmonic Orchestra premiered during Pixar Fest at Disney California Adventure in April 2018. Originally performing at the Paradise Garden section of DCA, the troupe moved to the Pixar Bandstand at the Pixar Promenade on Pixar Pier, in the shadows of the Pixar Pal Around. That’s a lot of Pixar’s. The orchestra, presented by TripleDent Gum, (another Pixar reference, Inside Out) performed 6 times daily. According to a Disney spokesperson, “Seasonal changes in entertainment are part of the normal course of business…” and unfortunately, The Pixarmonic Orchestra conducted its final performance on September 15, 2019. Fortunately for me, the orchestra was a must see during my D23 Expo trip to California; and of course, I had my camera ready. Here is the full Pixarmonic Orchestra from the Summer of 2019.

He then went on to work for Star Tours piloting the Star Speeder 3000 until he crash-landed on Batuu where he was reprogramed into a DJ, and at the same time had his appearance slightly altered by Mubo, the proprietor of the Droid Depot. Occasionally, especially upon startup, he has a flashback to his prior programing, I meant to do that, or Light Speed to Endor anyone??? • #125: 1989 Walt Disney World 4th of July Spectacular

    04/07/2019 Duración: 01h31min

In the late 1980’s and early 1990’s, the Disney Decade was in full swing, and part of it was advertising what’s new at Walt Disney World Resort. Disney parks was no stranger to “live” events from the parks. The Happy Easter Parade, Christmas Day Parade, and yes, The 4th of July Spectacular. While Disney has “live streamed” some recent 4th of July performances, it just doesn’t quite feel like the anticipation of waiting to watch the “live” fireworks on July 3rd in the 1980s. The special, like the Christmas and Easter Parades, evolved over the years; and in 1989, America’s 213th Birthday the focus was on Disney recording artists and the newly opened MGM Studios theme park. The Spectacular kicks off at Washington Square, New York, New York, or in this case, at Walt Disney World MGM Studios. Remember the Studios had just opened just two months earlier on May 1st, 1989 – New Kids on the Block are at Pleasure Island along with the Mannequin Dancers. Mickey Mouse Club Members are at the new Typhoon Lagoon Water Park
