  • Ep 25 - Who Killed Captain Alex? - #WAKALIWOODATTHEHOLLYWOOD

    15/10/2016

The film making language is always evolving. People across the globe view films through the lens of their individual cultures and customs, and it is only natural that those who would add to cinema would do so through that same lens. Who Killed Captain Alex? (2010) is prime example of this. It was made in the slums of Uganda, Africa by a team of filmmakers who dubbed themselves "Wakaliwood" and set out to make Uganda's first action film. We don't often ask, but please, if you can, watch the film to see what people can achieve when you're armed with determination, creativity and passion for films.Special thanks to Chris Archer who appears as a guest host this episode.

What causes it to stick in our hearts and minds the way it does? And more importantly, is it any good?

I know we all love hearing their hot takes on cinematic monsterpieces week after week, but recently it's been brought to my attention by our benefactors that their attempts to unpack Joel Schumacher's The Number 23 (2007) have driven them insane. The trio will be committed to our care until such time that therapy rejuvenates them or, as our benefactors have informed me, more drastic measures become necessary. THESE THREE ARE TO BE KEPT ON THE PREMISES AT ALL COSTS.Dr. Fitzgerald Harshaw, PhD
