BizzleCast 52: Disney's "ROGUE ONE" Debacle Unveils Larger Systemic Problems
10/06/2016 Duración: 31minWith STAR WARS: ROGUE ONE all *poop* seems to have hit the fan, and even if the reports are off, this situation begs all sorts of questions about Disney’s relevance and substance. Downfall of Disney, you ask? You mean the same company that owns the top 3 grossing movies of 2016 to the tune of over $3 billion combined in CIVIL WAR, ZOOTOPIA, and THE JUNGLE BOOK? Symptomatic of Disney's conservative attitude towards discussions on society, the STAR WARS: ROGUE ONE fiasco reveals much deeper issues. Why is Disney afraid to advertise their association with Daredevil and Jessica Jones? Why is WALL-E the most politically and socially deep movie its ever put out, with all its supposed “grown up” movies? We ask these questions and more about the company that is as much a fantasy as its most famous properties, despite my love of the Marvel films. BizzleCast 50: Politics 2016 Party! feat. Cousin Phil
05/06/2016 Duración: 01h52minHOLY S**T WE MADE IT TO 50!! “It’s a celebration, B****es!” Cousin Phil is back after a record-shattering podcast together, BizzleCast 35, where we talked Creed, Rocky, and race in the sports world. Here we get straight to it: American politics in 2016. We’ve got Trump. Oh and more Trump! We’re a little elitist. Wisdom seems lacking in the country despite increased knowledge. We talk about the lackluster choices available to us in this election. We praise President Obama, and worry about who is to follow. Highlights include: “Trump never prayed to any god but the porcelain one.” “Sarah Palin is too stupid to be evil.” “Fox News is really just aka The Cartoon Network.” “Stephen A. Smith is the Donald Trump of sports media.” “This will go down as one of the greatest presidencies in the history of the United States.” “Is Hillary gonna promise Bernie an In & Out Burger?” And it wouldn’t be a Cousin Phil BizzleCast without some sports and city smack talk (go Philly), and while Phil doesn’t embarrass himself with a

BizzleCast Special! Papa Bizzle rappin' on X-MEN with Jr. Biz
03/06/2016 Duración: 01h19minPapa Bizzle helped keep my head up despite negative reviews heading into APOCALYPSE because X-MEN is a property I have a deep and abiding love for since childhood despite Fox's ongoing attempts to sabotage the franchise. While we aren't non-critical here, we both ended up enjoying the movie a lot and especially the great character drama which was head and shoulders above BvS and CIVIL WAR - even while falling short in some other areas. Join the Bizzles for some highly mutated conversation! BizzleCast Quickie: A Surprisingly Positive Mini-Review of "X-MEN APOCALYPSE" by The Bizzle
30/05/2016 Duración: 23minThis Bizzle is not gonna lie: I thought “X-MEN: APOCALYPSE” was much better than the reviews - but then again I'm an X-Men nerd for life. I give it a 7.5/10 if I have to put a score, but a very entertaining 7.5. It’s a movie of great moments and scenes and images, even if it’s never quite coherent. If I didn’t know a lot about X-Men coming in, not sure how I’d feel. And the negative reviews coming in helped lower my expectations, which is always a smart move in life. But XM:A has a totally original aesthetic as we expect from Bryan Singer, and the whether this movie succeeds financially or not it beautifully sets up the next phase of the X-Men-Verse, and I’ll talk about a few of the new recruits here. Check out my mini-mostly-non-spoiler review - 20 minutes - let me change your mind and get you United!

BizzleCast 49.5: TV Superheroes in 2016 feat. Matty G aka Goose
20/05/2016 Duración: 01h57minFrom the fastest man in the world to a playboy billionaire vigilante who's way cooler than Batman. Not sure which superhero TV show is worth watching? Never fear, because Matty G aka Goose watches ALL of it, and The Bizzle is along for the ride. In the Part 2 of our "State of the Superhero" BizzleCast, that's exactly what we discuss: the highs of the Marvel Netflix (JESSICA JONES, DAREDEVIL) and CW "Arrow-verse" shows (ARROW, FLASH, etc), the ultimate pointlessness of Fox's GOTHAM and the shaky place AGENTS OF SHIELD finds itself in on ABC. The future of superheroes on TV is bright or at least has great potential - join us in the future - Crisis on Infinite Earths!!!

BizzleCast 49: State Of The Superhero feat. Matty G aka Goose
17/05/2016 Duración: 54minThe first of a two-parter with my partner in crime Matty G. aka Goose, we give to you a snappy but comprehensive State of the Superhero Universe on film, TV, and Netflix. With the stunning success of DEADPOOL, the artistic bomb that was BATMAN v SUPERMAN, and a very good but not all-time great CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR — along with some good but inconsistent TV properties — the future of superhero movies is somewhat up in the air. However, the rapid rise in excitement for Chadwick Boseman as the BLACK PANTHER (2018), an incredibly lovable introduction of the new and soon-to-be-best SPIDERMAN, and very cool concepts behind DOCTOR STRANGE and CAPTAIN MARVEL all seem to indicate a promising near-future in the next few years. And let’s not forget GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2 in spring of 2017, which could overshadow all genre movies next year in how fun it’ll be, including possible STAR WARS: EPISODE 8. Suit up, and let’s #GetThisDone.

BizzleCast 48: CIVIL WAR Review Party! Feat. Gabriel (aka Kwadwo) and Noah Temple
08/05/2016 Duración: 02h30minRobert Downey Jr. hitting on Marisa Tomei as Aunt Mae? Check. Fabulous drama, comedy, and action involving Cap and his buddies Sam (Anthony Mackie) and Bucky (Sebastian Stan)? We got that. Paul Rudd as an Avenger? Brilliant. For the most part, Gabriel, Noah, and the Bizzle loved this movie. Despite some uneven pacing and yet another so-so Marvel villain, the character drama was top notch along with some very fun action set pieces. But Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman) and Spiderman (Tom Holland) stole the show - which of course was the plan to set up their own upcoming franchises. Excellent supporting performances by Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany in particular, along with Jeremy Renner, Scarlett Johansson and others makes this universe feel truly lived in so that we love the characters wherever the writing and direction takes us.

BizzleCast 47: "THE AVENGERS" Film Commentary with Matty G aka Goose
01/05/2016 Duración: 02h31minWhat can you say about the greatest comic book film ever? The word that always comes to mind is "giddy" when I watch MARVEL'S THE AVENGERS, which changed not only the genre but filmmaking forever. While the fabulous “Cap: Winter Soldier” and “Avengers: Age of Ultron” more directly precede the upcoming “Cap: Civil War,” THE AVENGERS deploys a giddy joyousness that we Marvel fans are hoping for with “Civil War” as much as its political and character themes. Earth's Mightiest Heroes, indeed.

BizzleCast 46: CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER Film Commentary
25/04/2016 Duración: 02h03minA flawed but very endearing movie, Chris Evans in “Captain America: The First Avenger” is immediately lovable as Cap (and mini-Cap), but Hayley Atwell as the brilliant and sexy stone-cold badass Agent Peggy Carter absolutely kills it and at many times steals the movie. With excellent assists by Sebastian Stan (Bucky Barnes), Tommy Lee Jones, and Stanley Tucci, "The First Avenger" immediately asserts Captain America as the character and movie franchise that all of the Marvel Cinematic Universe on the big screen and TV has and still goes through. And Cap does NOT like bullies. BizzleCast 45: CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR Preview Party! Feat. Matt G aka Goose
18/04/2016 Duración: 02h15minThe Bizzle has been waiting for this movie since the minute I walked out of my first screening of “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” two years ago, and in this NON-SPOILER BizzleCast you’ll see how amped up The Bizzle and senior contributor Matt aka Goose are. "Captain America: Civil War" features the already-acclaimed introduction of T’Challa/Black Panther and the much-needed return of Spider-Man to his Marvel roots. That CIVIL WAR (or "Avengers 2.5") promises a deep and complicated moral debate could make this film the most compelling Marvel efforts yet. Even while helping us clean the terrible taste of “Batman v Superman” from our mouths, CIVIL WAR may turn into the first $1.5 billion solo superhero film. Advance reviews have been excellent and we absolutely cannot freaking wait!!! BizzleCast 43: "Jawn Of Justice" - Biz And Matt Break "BvS" Down
31/03/2016 Duración: 03h23minBC43: Our most wild and wacky BizzleCast yet! In which Mr. Matt and The Bizzle play “Would You Rather” for crappy movies we’d rather watch than BATMAN v SUPERMAN (there are a lot); where we introduce Spoiler-Blessings (saving you from seeing the movie); and in which the following quotes are made: “Everything Deadpool made fun of two months ago" “A circumcision without the health or religious benefits” “An overstuffed incoherent soulless ugly hard-to-see disaster of a movie" "Man of Steel is at least half of a good movie which is one half more than this one" “Would you prefer to see Zack Snyder get hit in the face with a pie, have monkeys throw poop at him or be mauled by a bear?”

BizzleCast 42: MAN OF STEEL film commentary ft. Matt Goisman
07/03/2016 Duración: 02h26minWith BATMAN v SUPERMAN around the corner, Matt Goisman and I had way more fun re-watching MAN OF STEEL together for the Bizzlecast than either of us did by ourselves. MAN OF STEEL has an exciting if occasionally derivative visual style, courtesy of Zack Snyder. Still, some humorless and cliched dialogue bring down even some of the cooler scenes of the movie, which at times can look spectacular. This is supposed to be the foundation of a DC “cinematic universe” designed to rival Marvel Studios. The central question with BvS will be whether or not MAN OF STEEL accomplished this. Henry Cavill and Amy Adams have very good chemistry, and if BvS is as successful as DC/Warner Bros hopes, this relationship has major potential down the line. BizzleCast 41: CREED Film Commentary by The Bizzle
03/03/2016 Duración: 02h09minIf you know me or listen to the BizzleCast (hopefully both) you know how much I love this movie. Love. Relationships. Drama. Action. Comedy. Amazing filmmaking. BizzleCast 40: DEADPOOL Party! Feat. Matt Goisman
26/02/2016 Duración: 01h38minThe Bizzle and senior contributor Matt Goisman are a pair of super smooth criminals as they gleefully geek out on DEADPOOL. I’m genuinely still in shock that a Rated-R movie about the foul-mouthed and sometimes super cheesy Deadpool — pretty much the only important non-mutant in the mutant X-Men universe — is going to far surpass $500 million and is already the highest grossing of EIGHT (8) X-Men movies after less than two weeks. Join us for Women's Appreciation Day at the Deadpool cafe.

BizzleCast 39: Hollywood's Race Problem ft. Gabriel (aka Kwadwo)
30/01/2016 Duración: 01h59minThe title of this BizzleCast speaks for itself, and with the Oscars coming quickly it’s time to tackle this issue. While CREED and STRAIGHT OUTTA COMPTON got snubbed, Chris Rock is apparently re-writing his hosting material to make this the “raciest” Academy Awards show ever (and the only real reason to watch). Gabriel aka Kwadwo (his Ghanaian name) is a newly minted BizzleCast co-contributor and joins the show to share his views on the matter as someone who loves movies and being black. In addition to the two movies mentioned, we go back in time to talk about 12 Years A Slave, Django Unchained, The Help, Precious, The Last King of Scotland, all things Denzel, the new Storm (fro-hawk and all), and much more. This is a highly civilized but super fun podcast - we manage to keep it both upbeat and real as much as we can, and I think y’all are really going to love this one. BizzleCast 38: Top 3 Blockbuster Movies of 2015 according to The Bizzle
27/01/2016 Duración: 01h20minHere it is: The Bizzle’s Top 3 Blockbuster Movies of 2015. There aren’t necessarily the BEST movies of 2015, though #1 and #2 would still be on that list for me. These are movies that made at least $100m worldwide (hence “blockbuster”) and are Hollywood in the best way possible. If you want to see all the movies that are eligible (there are 40 or so that meet the $100m criteria) head over to BoxOfficeMojo.com. These are the blockbuster films that I personally saw that are eligible for the BizzleCast Top 3, in order of box office totals: -Star Wars: The Force Awakens -Avengers: Age of Ultron -The Martian -MI: Rogue Nation -Pitch Perfect 2 -Ant-Man -Straight Outta Compton -Mad Max: Fury Road -Spy -Creed -Terminator: Genisys -Bridge of Spies I also loved Brooklyn, Spotlight, and The Big Short and am rooting for them in terms of awards, but they didn’t meet the blockbuster criteria (although The Big Short could hit $100m if it wins a lot of Oscars). I also didn’t see the huge-grossing Jurassic World, Inside Out,
