Movie Banter

Hooray! A good movie week! Toy Story 3! Inception! Oh, and Predators. Discussion of these, plus mother-and-baby screenings, Spanish cinemas, the best Leonardo DiCaprio films, and all the usual waffle.

A mini-banter to tide you over this week - Paul and Jon get frustrated at the great Back to the Future hoax of 2010, evade attack by a giant wasp, and take a look forwards at Inception, Predators, Toy Story 3, and The Karate Kid.

Plenty of movies on tap this week, with Twilight Eclipse, Shrek Forever After, Get Him to the Greek, and the remake of Death at a Funeral. Plus Jen edges ever-closer towards becoming a Bond villain, and Desert Island Flicks covers best fairytale movie.

Back with a big banter, full of chat of Killers, She's Out Of My League, various DVDs, a look at the best Dennis Hopper movies, your emails and tweets, a healthy dosage of smut (well it is episode 69), and the results of whether we're keeping Jenny or sacking her and getting Gemma Arterton.

Well we've been busy and there are no decent films out. So here's one more mini-banter till next time. This one features the rest of Paul's interview with Radio Times Film Editor, TV writer, journalist and podcaster, Mr Andrew Collins. Includes fond thoughts of Carry On Screaming, the movies of Richard Linklater, and the short-lived ER video club.

The only major film reviewed this week is Prince of Persia, but that doesn't stop other movie-related banter flowing freely, including discussing why we've not watched Sex and the City 2, Brendan Fraser losing his way, and the chances of replacing Jenny with Gemma Arterton (SPOILER ALERT: slim to none). Desert Island Flicks is "best car chase", and of course your emails, tweets, and Facebook comments.

This week Ellen Page and Drew Barrymore fight Greek gods, while Sam Worthington lies about his age to join a roller derby team. Something like that anyway. Clash of the Titans and Whip It get reviewed by the Bantercast team, together with chat about the future of Bond, your emails and tweets, This Week in Movie History, and Desert Island Flicks focuses on best film featuring a volcano, after Eyjafjallajökull caused so many problems this week (bless you, copy and paste).

Kick-Ass and How To Train Your Dragon are up for review this week, plus your emails and tweets spark chat of Total Recall, the Dollars trilogy, Titanic in 3D, and Desert Island Flicks covers best Gene Hackman movie.

The second half of our double-bill is just as movie-packed as the first, with Green Zone, Shutter Island, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, and Chloe. From werewolves to the World Cup, from Harlem to harmless romcoms, our 59th episode is packed full of The Wolfman, Invictus, Precious (based on the novel 'Push' by Sapphire), Valentine's Day and It's Complicated. Plus a look at the Oscar nominations, proper film critic Andrew Collins recommends his favourite undiscovered gem of a film from last year, In This Week In Movie History, and Desert Island Flicks features the best Clint Eastwood films.
