I had my talk story with David S. Ishii at the Waikoloa Beach Resort at the 2019 HHSAA (Hawaii High School Athletic Association) Boys Golf Championship. Waikoloa Beach Resort was host to the 36 hole championship played at Waikoloa Beach Resort Kings' Course on the Big Island of Hawaii. The girls championship was earlier in the week.The HHSAA is sponsored by David S. Ishii Foundation. Scott Head, VP Waikoloa Beach Resort calls David Ishii the best player to ever come out of Hawaii and says David's support for high school players has had a huge impact on the sport. Waikoloa Beach Resort is always proud to host junior, high school, college and professional tournaments and very happy the high school state championships were played at Waikoloa Kings Course in 2019 as it rotates from island to island each year. I have always been a big fan of my brother Max's poems and song writing and piano playing ... as I have been of Max's twin Mary and my twin sister Edee creativity as musicians. Over the years if they were playing music I was taping if I could....As I'm curating of what I have documented over the years of family moments and public moments I keep finding so many heartwarming moments ... on video, in photos, news stories, audio recordings like this audio recording (on cassette) from probably 20 years ago.I'm grateful for the many moments of wonderful memories with my big brother Max and his family and some of my siblings at Max's home in Malibu when we would hang out. Who is Jack Berry? He's a long time dear friend of mine. He was a Sports Writer with the Detroit New for many years. He was awarded the 2007 PGA Lifetime Achievement Award in Journalism. He watched me grow up as a pretty good Junior Golfer in Michigan in the 60'-70's. Emily met up with her long time friends John and Judy Collins Co-Founders of the Ironman. Emily met John and Judy when she and Pooh came from Detrit to Kona in 1981 to participate in the Ironman. John and Judy Co-founders of the Ironman back in 1978 were in Kona with and their daughter Kirsten and son Michael for the 40th Anniversary of the Ironman. Michael was not with us for the show as he was getting ready to participate in the Ironman.We thought it would be a good time for John and Judy to get on record how the Ironman started and dispel the myth that it all started in a bar, as a challenge among a bunch of navy seals. I have loved watching the people over the last few years on HandleBar Detroit. I see them when I am riding my bike around town. I had read about the reopening of the The Belle Isle Aquarium and when Vance Patrick who was at the helm along with others of getting the Aquarium reopened said come let me show you around I did so a few days later. Paul and Jennifer Eisenstein and I met up at the Fish and The Hog in Waimea on Hawaii Island.
