Producer Steve demonstrates one of the ways in which California emission standards make no real sense for Colorado (they don't make much sense for California either). Colorado government is stepping outside of the proper role of government with this attempt to bring in these emission standards. These standards would limit the freedom of individuals. This impacts available options for buyers, as well as the cost of vehicles. By model year 2025 10% the inventory of Colorado automobile dealers must be low and zero emission vehicles. Yesterday an Americhicks listener was in the area where public school teachers were protesting, they recorded some audio and shared it with Kim. Kim shares that audio with you. The graduation rate of the Denver public school is 64.8%. Maybe we should see that rate bump up some before teachers are given the 11% raise they are demanding, which would also come with an increased benefits package. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has proposed what is called, "The Green New Deal". It seems unlikely that Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is the person who has developed this plan. In this "Green New Deal" promises "a massive transformation of our society", "a ten year plan to mobilize EVERY aspect of American society at a scale not seen since World War II to achieve net zero green house gas emission". A revised version of this proposed bill states, "[...]it is the duty of the Federal Government to create a Green New Deal— to achieve net-zero greenhouse gas emissions through a fair and just transition for all communities and workers; to create millions of good, high-wage jobs and ensure prosperity and economic security for all people of the United States". HB19-1032 (www.leg.colorado.gov/bills/hb19-1032) is a sex education bill wherein the state of Colorado will force a disturbing sex education curriculum on students K-12. In examination of this bill Kim is joined by former Colorado State Senator, Kevin Lundberg (www.kevinlundberg.com). This legislation includes disallowing any "gender norms" terminology. Understand that this means that referring to a person as "him" or "her" would not be allowed. Let us be honest, this is not education. This is instead indoctrination, the forcing of a worldview. This may well be a violation of the Colorado state Constitution which requires that school districts, and not the state, establish curriculum for their district.
