Sinopsis
The long and short of it is that the three of us started getting together every Wednesday morning to drink coffee, take a break and figure out how we were going to make an impact (and how we could work together to do so). We called it 'Solving the World's Problems Coffee Hour'. We chatted about all kinds of ideas: research, new workouts, combining things, and crazy ideas we heard on podcasts. Then it dawned on us. We should start a podcast. Yep, that is how we thought we might be able to make a dent into the worlds problems (it all starts with a dent, right?) So here we are now. Several months of planning, brainstorming and politely asking Kyle's friend Justin (the awesome AV guy) if he could help us out. So what it's all about is that Clinically Pressed is going to be a traveling podcast and we will be recording on location. We are going to interview experts around the country from all health/nutrition/performance professions as well as include round table discussions covering major topics and questions. Our goal is to provide as much information as we can that is useful to viewers/listeners, and do it all at no cost. We want to make the complicated simple and make it something you can apply to your life. We hope you enjoy!

30/01/2024 Duración: 19minThis is a new series from Clinically Pressed where for the next 10 weeks we will work out way up the body discussing common injuries and what you can do if you're suffering from one. We discuss the anatomy of it, how to manage it early, modalities that we've had success with in treating it and rehab ideas to improve it and hopefully prevent it from coming back in the future. Clinical Insight: Chronic Pain and the Radiculo-Neuropathic Myofascial Pain Model
23/01/2024 Duración: 16minIn this Clinical Insight we take a shallow dive into the Radiculo-Neuropathic Myofascial Pain Model. This model was heavily influenced by Dr. Chan Gunn. It is a very solid model in the evaluation and treatment of chronic pain as it takes into consideration a lot of key components that play a role in the production of chronic pain. We talk through how the combination of Cannon’s Law, denervation and other factors play a role in chronic pain based on how this model describes it. At the end we discuss what are some practical recommendations that you can try immediately to see if there is something you can do if you are dealing with chronic pain. Check it out, leave a comment and we will continue the discussion as well as we can to keep helping make the complicated simple. Ep. 63: Reiki Master-Shannon Amberg PhD
11/01/2024 Duración: 50minOn this episode we have Shannon Amberg PhD and Reiki Master. This is the first of two episodes with Shannon as we try and scratch the surface ofsomeone's what Reiki is and how energy healing works. We get into asking a lot of questions as Joel is relatively skeptical (even when trying not to be) when it comes to the body and energy and someones ability to actually read that energy. Shannon does a great job breaking down what it is all about and how it can benefit everyone in one way or another. There are some extremely interesting connections and ideas that you can come away with when you really listen to the ideas behind energy and how it runs our worlds. CI: Do Shoes Matter?
13/12/2023 Duración: 13minA topic that I used to be very into and had since faded for me but listening to an episode of Freakanomics brought it back to the front of my mind. Do the shoes you wear really matter? The episode talked about the evolution of shoes and what it means to your feet and some of the long-term health of your feet and body in general. In this Clinical Insight we get back into the discussion and offer some practical points to take away that you can apply to finding the “right” shoe for you. We also discuss time and place and that it doesn’t have to be one way or the other. Enjoy. Research Review: Split v. Full Body Training Program
30/11/2023 Duración: 11minIn this Reserach Review, Dr. Jagim talks about split vs. full body training in a group of non-trained women that assessed the changes in some performance metrics at the beginning and at the end. The volume/amount of exercises were equalized over the course of the week with the split group having shorter workouts but more frequency compared to longer training sesssions but fewer for the full body group. The results found that both groups got stronger to the same extent, so ultimately what they found is that both types of workouts were effective. From this study it appears you can utilize both types of training and still focus on getting the results that you want. Wellness Insight: Minding the Middle
14/11/2023 Duración: 14minWe live in a world where the extreme seems to be transitioning to the norm and when one extreme idea comes out, someone has to find something as far on the opposite side to counteract it. This can be found in fitness, nutrition and wellness. It can also be found in leadership and how you interact with people. That is what this updated Wellness Insight covers and tries to get us all thinking about. RR: Training to Failure
31/08/2023 Duración: 10minIs training to failure the best way to train? Is going hard all the time truly going to help you get the changes that you are desiring? Dr. Andrew Jagim takes a look at a study that tested just that. They looked at how trainign to only having 1 rep left in reserve vs. 4-6 reps in reserve and how that caused changes in strength. The results may be surprising to some who live by the “go hard or go home” style of training.
