But one of the main reasons is that apparently nobody has done a full illustration of either Father Forthill, Nicholas Christian of Ragged Angel Investigations, or Fitz. They haven't even done an illustration of the Ragged Angel logo! Anyway, this is the section in which RoShawn and I talk over all the things that are happening and how she's having trouble keeping track of it all, which I think is perfectly reasonable. Since Kincaid is brought up in this episode, I thought I was use a recent illustration I saw on Adam Mathison-Sward's Instagram (link here, but be careful because there are lots of spoilers for later books! https://www.instagram.com/swarddraws/) because it's such a great snapshot of both Kincaid and Ivy AND Mister. These chapters are the one in which we get a really vivid flashback to Harry's first training days with Justin Dumorne, and find out just how awful Harry's time in the system was for a man like this to be considered an improvement. Despite the terrible memory, Harry focuses on the positive and uses the power from it to fuel the ability to do a spell, and this could be a gamechanger. I guess we will have to wait and see. It was on a Tumblr account with no accreditation and the OP wasn't the artist, nor did a reverse image search return any results. I just liked it because it's one of a very few illustrations with Butters and Bob together. In these, chapters, Dresden is saved from the Lemurs by our old polka-loving friend, who is wielding Bob like a blacklight for ghosts. Bob makes short work of Harry's attackers and returns Harry's essence back to his body, and then Butters takes Harry to see what's become of his old boarding house. And there, we get to see just how tightly wound Karrin has become since everything has started going down. It's a rough start, too, because the opening pages are Karrin on the Water Beetle and looking at the evidence of what has to be Dresden's murder, even though she can't really bear to admit that to herself. And life does that cruel thing where it marches on, heedless of the fact that your world has completely shifted and the bottom has fallen out of your stomach. Karrin is contacted by Billy the werewolf, whose pregnant wife has vanished and who was told to find her in case Harry wasn't available. She gets drawn into a major plot involving the Fomor, who we've seen before, and has to see how she will fare as a regular vanilla mortal versus the big bad supernatural...without Harry. I almost skipped Love Hurts because out of all the short stories, it has arguably the least plot influence on any of the main books. Nothing from that story really feels like it comes up again, other than Murphy and Harry being into one another, which we already knew. But I'm a completionist, so I decided to just do it. Even Hand, however, is another kettle of fish entirely. That is a story that shows us the Fomor for the first time and we get some insight into Marcone and his staff, the way he thinks, and just how prepared he is for Dresden, should Dresden make any attempt to come at him. And RoShawn is really wondering who the hell went after Dresden in the end, because there are so many beings out there who want him dead that she's having trouble choosing. In these chapters, Harry finally gets to meet his daughter Maggie for the first time. He doesn't get a lot of time with her, and he doesn't tell her who he is, but it's enough to motivate Harry to agree to the fight with Duchess Ariana on behalf of the Red King. Harry gets another puzzling moment where she laughs at him thinking this is about him, and tells him to die confused. But if it's NOT about him, then what's it about?
