Hey everyone! Sorry this was later than usual! Normally I try to get it edited by Monday but RoShawn had some trouble getting the file sent to me (power outage that lasted a whole day) so I was only able to edit it tonight. If anyone knows the artist for this piece, please let me know. I was able to find it posted to several blogs, but none cited a source. It was simply too good not to use! This episode, RoShawn and I talk about the Erlking, whom she is a big fan of, as it turns out. She's really hoping that we get to see him again, although she's worried about the fact that he's clearly intent on making Harry into the quarry of his next hunt. Yikes. Then, Lea catches up with him and Susan, and bestows upon them some gifts, although Harry is far from sanguine about things since their time in Faerie turned out to take hours longer in the mortal world than they thought. However, while he's there the Red Court decides that it's time to pull out all the stops and just fucking murder everyone in their way, and they bring the Ich with them. Susan and Harry manage to lure the main body of the assault through a Way into the NeverNever, but in their attempt to get out of a dangerous situation where they're outnumbered by inhuman beings....they wind up in a dangerous situation where they're outnumbered by inhuman beings. He comes back to himself as his friends hit him with several hundred volts of electricity because his heart has stopped, and as SOON as that is settled, Butters is shot. I can see how this dude turned up disguised as a janitor, and I'm really going to keep the image in mind going forward. It's a lot more interesting than the way I was picturing Uriel, anyway. This episode deals with one of the roughest moments in the series, which is the moment in which Harry breaks his back and realizes that the time has come to make a deal. RoShawn is really taken aback (heh) by the fact that his daughter wasn't enough motivation, according to Jim Butcher, and that he needed another layer of torment heaped upon him, and she and I spend a little time wondering if Harry would have made a deal if he broke his back while fighting the other baddies he's encountered in previous books. Harry finds out that the purpose of the sacrifice is to cast a bloodline curse that will wipe out everyone on Harry's family tree, and we think over what that could mean. Why would someone bother, when Harry's family is so small? And how did they figure out who Maggie even was, to target her? In these chapters, Harry finally travels with Bob through to the unknown area of the NeverNever that borders his home, in a desperate bid to get away from the cops who are raiding his apartment. Thing is that while he's able to stash his stuff, he is NOT able to get past the giant centipedes that live there, and he has to turn right the fuck around and let himself get got. And then there's the realization that maybe the whole thing with Duchess Ariana is about more than just him, which he only really comes to thanks to Murphy. Harry's operating on the assumption this is all about revenge...but what if it's not? Thanks for listening, and we will see you next week!

I thought that a PoC depicting her in a cosplay was a nice nod to the fact that Susan isn't white, and it's a pretty dope image. It's amazing that we're into Changes already, after seeing it so far away on the horizon when starting this series, but I am extremely excited about everything that lays in store for RoShawn in this book. Then there's an unfortunate turn of events in which Luccio hears that Thomas is Harry's brother, and RoShawn feels like Luccio isn't really being cool about it by kind of tricking Harry into thinking it's safe to tell her about it, and then immediately saying, "Thanks for confirming, I will keep your secret if you feel like it."
