Objectors To €10m Ennis Motorway Plaza Hope To Wrap Up High Court Action Within "Months"
28/08/2025 Duración: 09minObjectors to a near-completed motorway plaza on the outskirts of Ennis insist they hope to have high court action relating to wastewater treatment wrapped up in a matter of months, not years. Fresh doubt has been cast on the future of Supermac's ten million euro development just off junction 12 of the M18, which is due to open at the end of October. Friends of the Irish Environment commenced action against Uisce Éireann, for its decision to grant a wastewater connection. Supermac's ten million euro motorway service station, which is located just off junction 12 of the M18 is almost finished construction and is set to provide up to 120 jobs when operational at the end of October. The project has already been the subject of a full judicial review, but now the Friends of the Irish Environment has launched High Court legal action against Uisce Éireann over its recent connection agreement. €400k In Government Funding Announced For Clarecastle GAA
28/08/2025 Duración: 06minClose to half a million in Euro in Government funding has been granted for Clarecastle GAA. 400,000 euro has been announced for the development of the sports grounds at Ballaghafadda East, under the Immigrant Investor Programme, which is now closed, but applications submitted prior to the closure date have been honoured. The IIP was a scheme that allowed non-EEA nationals to gain residency in Ireland by making a significant approved investment, but it's been closed to new applications since February 2023. The funding allocation for Clarecastle GAA was signed off on by Fianna Fáil Minister for Justice, Home Affairs and Migration, Jim O’Callaghan last evening. His party colleague, Meelick Fianna Fáil TD Cathal Crowe has been telling Clare FM's Fiona Cahill that the funding will make a huge difference to the club.

North Clare Community In Shock Following Passing Of "Ironman" Joe Vaughan

Moy native Joe Vaughan passed away on Tuesday morning after emergency services were alerted to a fire at his house at approximately 3:30am. In a statement, Moy GAA says it's with "great sadness" that they announce his passing and that his "passion, wisdom, and unwavering support inspired all who knew him". Former Moy GAA Club Secretary and friend of Joe, Colin Hennessy, believes he'll always be with those close to him.

New High Court Challenge Threatens Ennis Supermacs Plaza
28/08/2025 Duración: 03minFresh doubt has been cast on the future of Supermac's Ennis plaza as a new high court challenge has been launched. The Friends of the Irish Environment has commenced action against Uisce Éireann for its decision to grant a wastewater connection for the plaza, which is due to open in the coming months just off junction 12 of the M18. The group claims the Clareabbey Plant is already operating above capacity and that it's regularly discharging raw or partially treated sewerage into the River Fergus. However, Ennis Fianna Fáil Councillor Pat Daly believes the challenge is ridiculous and should be dismissed.

Dublin Coach To Offer More Reliable Service Following Acquisition
28/08/2025 Duración: 08minA bus company which operates a popular route out of Ennis expects to be able to provide a more reliable service going forward thanks to an acquisition. Dublin Coach, which is also known as the 'Green Bus', has been acquired by Galway-based company Callinan Coaches. It comes month after complaints relating to punctuality, capacity and "no-show" buses were made about the company's 300 route which runs from Ennis to Dublin, at a meeting of Ennis Municipal District. Dublin Coach Regional General Manager Frances Cahill claims positive changes is finally coming.

Clare Director To Showcase Film At Strandhill Film & Folk Festival

Commissioned by the Clare charity Hometree, Dinnseanchas explores themes of culture, community, and climate resilience. Ennis GP Says "Questions To Answer" Around Chemo Provision Despite "Exceptionally Good" Care
27/08/2025 Duración: 04minAn Ennis GP insists cancer care is "exceptionally good" in this region but admits there may be "questions to answer" arising from a new report. An investigation has found that all nine health centres nationwide missed the HSE's target to commence chemotherapy for 90% of patients within eight weeks of their final breast cancer surgery last year. Just 24% of patients at University Hospital Limerick had their first chemo appointment within eight weeks last year and this climbed to just 27% between January and March. Dr Máire Finn of Ennis Medical has been telling Clare FM's Seán Lyons patients are cared for "thoroughly" and have good clinical outcomes but there's always room for improvement.

Clare Students To Receive CAO Round 1 Offers Today

Those who received their results last Friday will be able to view their offers on the CAO website from 2pm this afternoon.
