On episode 21 of Film Focus, I look back my favourite films of 2016 and not only cover my top 10 but also briefly cover the films that were also really great but didn't quite make the list. On episode 20 of Film Focus I talk about the long-awaited spin-off/prequel film; Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. This long-awaited film has been one of the most talked about films of 2016 from its placement in the Star Wars film timeline to the endless discussions revolving the reshoots, there was a lot riding on this film as the first experimental deviation from the regular Star Wars formula. So how does the film hold up? Well, check out the review to find out. Oh and just so you know there will be spoilers at the end of the episode if you wish to avoid them stop listening at 29:10... On episode 19 of Film Focus, I talk about the 14th comic book film from Marvel Studios in the form of Doctor Strange. Now I 've had a lot of hope for this film considering how good the source material is and the talent that was involved in putting this film together. On episode 18 of Film Focus, I decided to focus on the use of music in film and discuss some of my favourite uses in certain films I've seen over the years. Since there are a lot of films to choose from I selected a few from different periods which had a lot of fun, interesting and emotional significance. Now there's a lot more choices I didn't get to include especially with the Quentin Tarantino films too, however, I decided to keep things to a reasonable length and I may come back to this topic in a future episode. On episode 14 of Film Focus, I talk about the films released during the summer season and determine whether this year's batch of films, on the whole, were good or not. On episode 12 of Film Focus I finally, FINALLY get around to reviewing the fourth film in the Bourne series (because no one counts Bourne Legacy); Jason Bourne. On episode 11 of Film Focus I finally get around to reviewing the third film in the new set of Star Trek films; Star Trek Beyond. Now, this is the first film in this rebooted franchise to feature Justin Lin in the director's seat and to have Simon Pegg in the writing position too, and while the trailers have been serviceable, the early buzz for the film from critics gave me hope. On episode 9 of Film Focus, I discuss my hopes and fears for the upcoming 2018 Sonic the Hedgehog film. Even though the major announcement of Sonic's jump to the big screen was made back in 2014, there hasn't been any major talk about it since, and since the very concept of it being a live-action/CGI hybrid just troubles me to the core, I thought it'd be an interesting topic to bring up for the podcast.
