KAYA explores human experiences of displacement, drawing on the strength and resilience of those searching for belonging in a new community. Ceyda Tanc is the Brighton-based choreographer behind the piece. She's known for creating dynamic dance influenced by her Turkish heritage and highlighting the intersection of modern Britain’s diverse cultures. Internationally renowned company NoFit State Circus bring their show Lexicon to the Brighton Festival following many successful runs at the Brighton Fringe. An evening of Black trans poetics with one of the UK’s leading trans voices - combining spoken word with soundscapes, projections and animation in collaboration with Daniel Braithwaite Shirley.  Travis Alabanza presents a feature performance from their acclaimed debut book of poetry. A new dark comedy performed by Victoria Melody, her dad (celebrity TV antique dealer Mike Melody) and a live New Orleans Jazz band. In 2013, Mike was diagnosed with a terminal illness, so Victoria organised the funeral service of his dreams. A year later, doctors realised they had misdiagnosed Mike, but they are going ahead with the funeral anyway – and you’re invited.  Victoria joins Melita Dennett and Rebecca Sandles in studio. Yomi Sode's hit show - which includes live cooking - tackles immigration, identity and displacement. COAT is a humorous and moving response to the mistakes made by elders that leave the next generation uncertain of what is expected of them. In one of its most ambitious and magical productions to date, The Voice Project has created an epic 10-hour choral work to be performed overnight in the grounds of historic Firle Place, one of England’s most beautiful country houses. On arrival, guests will be given a bed each before spending the night surrounded by sound and shadows, poised between sleep and wakefulness as the Choir performs music specially commissioned from leading composers Helen Chadwick, Orlando Gough and Jonathan Baker.
