Dangerous Mind Of Max Miller

Max does his last show of the year from the Illustrious Max Miller Studio in beautiful sunny downtown Austin, Texas as he broadcasts it seems like the United States government is going to shut down. Topics include what Max is doing for Christmas (not a lot), the shutdown (of course), the first year anniversary of the GOP tax cut, the “retirement” of General Mattis, and much more.

During his first broadcast of the week, the Maxster discusses how he is nowhere near ready for Christmas (no surprise really), the Trump Foundation (of course), Mike Flynn (duh!), Jeanine Pirro (who?), FBI, tariffs and cheese. Yes, you read that last one one right, cheese.

Max gets to Thursday in one piece, much to his amazement, where he broadcasts from the Max Miller Studio as usual, and is amazed to find out that Tucker Carlson does not seem impressed with the Trumpster at all, but Carlson did talk about this in an interview in Switzerland. Max would have been much more impressed if he would actually do this on Fox News and actually focused on things most Americans care about. Max then gets to President Bush’s funeral, which allows Max to take his “cheap shot of the day” at President Trump. Next Max gets into voter fraud, only this time it turns out the Republicans are not complaining because it seems it is the Republicans doing the fraud. Max ends up having to have a little lie down so he can recover from utter hypocrisy of it all. And yet once again, Max is highly disappointed yet again in Paul Ryan, AKA the Cowardly Lion, for questioning the electoral process this time because the GOP is losing in California. Max gets to his final show before Thanksgiving by explaining why the Max Miller Dog is in the dog house before moving to one of his favorite topics, tariffs, otherwise known as taxes on the middle class. Max then gets into some detail about how the tariffs (taxes on the middle class) are affecting farmers, and how Trump is taking advantage of the patriotism of this group of hard working people. Max gets into facts, somewhat depressing facts that show how the Trump team is taking advantage of farmers patriotism by not paying them for the losses they are suffering in the face of the trade war. Max jumps to Trump not listening to his own intelligence agencies (what a surprise) when it comes to Saudi Arabia’s murder of Jamal Khashoggi, and how even if he was killed by the Saudi’s then this is acceptable as we need the money and the investments. Although Max does point out that the money for investing Trump references is not true. Surprise, surprise, surprise.

Max misses his Thursday show due to a hangover, shameful but true, so he has to do his Thursday show on Friday morning. But in missing this deadline, this does give Max time to deliver as he says, “a quality project,” and to focus on the leaders of both the Democratic and Republican parties, in this case Nancy Pelosi in particular. Max’s view is that nobody voted for the Democrats due to the inspired leadership of Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi, in fact people voted Democrat despite them. And yet again, Max tries to understand what the Dems stand for? Next Max gets into one of his favorite topics, the GOP tax cut, and comes up with a new and rather startling statistic that 35% of the stock market is owned by foreigners. In other words, the tax cut is helping people who don’t even live in America.  Max then gets to Donald Trump being interviewed by the press, and the responsibility of a reporter who is interviewing any politician, in particular though this president, especially when he is claiming people voted

Max gets to Tuesday by getting on to one of his favorite subjects, cars, and how for months Max has said that Trump is itching to place tariffs on cars from Europe, in particular from Germany, and as it turns out there have been meetings in the White House in recent days on this very subject. Next Max jumps into the latest figures, which reinforce much of what we already know, that the massive tax cuts for corporations and the well-off have translated into, increased stock buy backs and other benefits for the stock holding class, which let’s not forget is only 48% of the US population, and of that, 80% of the stock market wealth is owned by 20% of the population. So it is no surprise that these people have done very well from the tax cuts, in particular as it turns out, companies are spending more on stock buy backs than they are on pay increases for their employees, or investing in plant and machinery. Max hits the last show of the week by going back over what has happened since the midterm election and how all the electioneering has put the Max Miller Dog on edge, as if he senses an evil presence, as dogs do in the movies. Max then gets into a quick recap of several recent conversations he has had with friends who believe he is not an independent at all, but more than likely a communist. So after the election will Americans come together in a kum ba ya moment, will they wash the neighbor’s car, and mow their lawn in the love that is all good about America. Max is not so sure, in particular after Trumps amazing press conference which went on for an amazing one hour and twenty two minutes. During this time, Trump attacked Jim Acosta, CNN and the press, but if he hates the press so much, why even let CNN ask a question. Max hits Election Day, which coincides with his first working day of the week to bring a personal perspective of a conversation he had with a good friend about what will happen and to explain to the Maxster why he is now on the Trump Train, despite the fact that Trump has done nothing remotely conservative during his tenure. This led the conversation down a rabbit hole which Max tried and failed to get out of, despite the fact the topic started off on the benign topic of, will there be a “blue wave” or not. Unfortunately even the Max Miller Dog seems on edge on Election Day as he paces around the Max Miller Studio, after all dogs are supposed to be sensitive to negative changes in the ether, and the MMD seems to be sensitive to Election Day Blues emanating from the humans around him. Max hits his next show talking about how poverty can be defined even in a state as prosperous California in such a way as to be deceptive. California now has the fifth largest economy in the United States yet by any standards it has a high number of people considered to be in poverty, which leads to Max’s point that an average high income can hide how many people are in poverty. Given that the cost of healthcare is a driver of poverty, Max actually congratulates Donald Trump, much to Max’s amazement, on the concept of trying to control the cost of prescription drugs based on pricing from other countries. But as Max explains, what odds would you give that Donald Trump would actually follow through on this proposal? Not much is Max’s answer. Then Max gets into the affect this may have on the drug companies themselves, which as Max explains, many of them are not even American. Shock, horror. Max starts his week yet again while trying to recover from a busy Monday by having a very nice cup of tea to help calm his nerves after Trumps love fest with Ted Cruz. Max then gets into the fact that many Americans are so jaded by the politicians of both parties that they cannot even be bothered to vote. It gets worse though, they feel if they do vote, no one in DC will listen to them so what’s the point as will not make any difference in their lives. Max quotes some voters from Middle America to make his point, which Max finds all very depressing as they all feel let down by the pols in DC. Then Max gets to the list of issues that they do care about, healthcare, jobs, education, infrastructure which is clear that the politicians in DC are not doing anything about. Which brings Max to the point that the woman in America are not only poorly served by politicians, they are also poorly served by the pundits, as Max points out, there is no way Laura Ingram, Anne Coulter, Rachel Maddow and others are doing a good

Max hits Thursday by reminding us that too many politicians who claim that government is really really bad, never in fact leave. Max gets into a tricky topic yet again about Donald Trump’s mental well-being, and his utter refusal to believe his own intelligence services yet again, this time regarding Jamal Khashoggi and the fact that Turkey “may or may not” have a tape of the killing. What is Trump doing? He is relying on his own massive intelligence. Max also helps Trump spell the word “Constitution” correctly, which clearly Trump is having a hard time with. Although it seems many Republicans seem to have selective amnesia of how important they view the Constitution when it comes to the Donald Trump. Max then jumps into the top issues for voters which is primarily healthcare and Medicaid, for Democrats, and shock horror, for Republicans too and how no one wants the right to healthcare to be taken away if someone has pre-existing healthcare issues. Max ends his week by looking at the fact that Americans seem to be drinking more heavily which is understandable given what is going on in DC when people like Kayne West visit the White House. Max goes through some startling statistics about the number of Americans who have now, like the Maxter, decided to start drinking heavily. Max is surprised that Donald Trump hasn’t claimed credit for the growth in liquor sales, which no doubt he would claim is very good thing. Max then gets into the act that he has been told off yet again by the “suits” that run the radio stations because they think Max is making too much fun of Sean Hannity. Max had no idea that Sean was such a “snowflake.” Next Max looks at Larry Kudlow who is Donald Trump’s chief economic advisor. Unfortunately as Max points out, Larry’s history of explaining how wonderful things are, well let’s just say Larry’s economic forecasting leaves a lot to be desired. Max starts the week by looking over the past 24 hours to see if anyone in DC, Republican or Democrat has done anything for the Average Working American, and as ever the answer is no. Max next gets into how Donald Trump’s taxes (what he calls tariffs) are really going to hurt many of his voters, especially anyone that shops at Dollar Tree, Wal-Mart and if you’re lucky Target. And it’s only going to get worse if the US increases taxes on Chinese goods to 25% early next year. Max then talks about his Twitter war with Hugh Hewitt, who has a list of great accomplishments that he claims Trump is responsible for, but when Max goes through the list he realizes that 95% of the list that Hewett claims Trump should be proud of, does nothing for the Average Working American. Sadly Max is not surprised. Max then jumps to Medicare and how the GOP is now claiming, in a massive irony, that it is the Democrats who want to take away Medicare from Americans. Of course Max has to spend the rest of the show on the Kavanaugh Supreme Court nomination, and starts by reading an email sent from the heart by a female listener. Max does remind us that juries every day have to weigh up he said, she said evidence, as that is what Americans do as part of their job. This starts Max down the path of what it means to carry out civic duty, and how politicians should learn from their own voters, which in this case includes friends of Kavanaugh’s who came forward to say he lied under oath. Max then gets into how a minority of voters, through the Electoral College system are actually placing their views on the will of the m

Max starts off by talking about NAFTA 2.0, otherwise known as USMCA (or as Max calls it, Yoosmucca), and examines what the real difference between NAFAT 1.0 and USMCA? It turns out as you might expect, not a lot despite Trump saying it is a world class trade deal which is about as well as the so-called middle class tax cut went over. Next Max gets a bit wonkish as he describes what is happening to the American farmer and how overall Trump is making the American farmer much worse off despite what the White House is saying. To prove his point Max gets into the average increases in pay, which on the surface seem like a great deal for the Average Working American, but in fact this is not such a good deal after all as higher income earners are the ones getting the biggest share of the increase. The answer it turns out is not at all. Next Max gets into the second most talked news item of the day, and that is the potential inauguration of Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court, except in this case when Kavanaugh was interviewed on US Today, AKA Fox News, somehow or other the history of his virginity came up as a topic. How embarrassing for him and overall it was a most embarrassing spectacle for the Supreme Court , as it even turned out that he did not have sexual intercourse while he was in high school and college. Although as this embarrassing issue came up, it would have been nice to know if young Brett did engage in other types of sexual activity, if you get the drift of this. Max starts off with some new statistics that show that 84% of the stock market wealth is owned by 10% of US households, and the fact that the middle class and working class are only now just about caught up with where they were ten years ago yet are falling behind compared to the top earner in the United States. However Max cannot spend too much time on this topic as he has of course to jump quickly into Brett Kavanaugh’s nomination for the Supreme Court and how the GOP cannot seem to stop tripping over their own feet. Not least of which is the irony that Grassley, who is head of the Judiciary Committee, has to accept the resignation of one his own team for, guess what, sexual harassment charges. Next Max has to move on to the incredibly bizarre topic of Edward Whelam who is head of a conservative group that includes what turns out to be the ultimate in ironic words, “ethics,” and how he made up a complete story via Twitter to prove that Kavanaugh couldn’t not possibly have done anything wrong. Max hits midweek with of course a take on the Kavanaugh nomination for the Supreme Court. You would think that if the GOP believed in Kavanaugh they would allow for an open forum into his actions or not as the case may be. But as the GOP has not released all his documents, nor wants to call more than the “he said she said” witnesses, it does make you wonder what it is they’re trying to hide. Plus you would think that Kavanaugh would want to be cleared even if it delays his sitting on the Supreme Court, and that he would want his friend Mark Judge to testify, not that this has stopped the GOP from trying to rush the inauguration of Kavanaugh through.  And let’s not forget that Dr. Ford has options even if she does not appear for the hearing on Monday. Then Max has to go back to poor old Jeff Sessions and yet more slings and arrows thrown at him by Donald Trump, why does he even stay? Max doesn’t even have time to get to how the GOP has blown up the deficit and Trump doesn’t even get his wall.

Max wants to start his week by talking about who else, Judge Kavanaugh and his new problems with getting confirmed on the Supreme Court. But Max has to get over the new news that the Trumpster wants to add another $200b worth of Chinese goods to his tariff list which already has tariffs on $50b in goods. n this case the tariffs would be 10% but will increase to 25% in the New Year. Put another way, this is a tax on the middle class. Max gets into his ideas on how China might actually retaliate, which for certain will not be pretty as Max, who has been to China many times, reminds his listeners that Chinese people have something called ‘face’ which will not allow them to back down on the fight with Trump. Next Max has to jump into going after Ted Cruz yet again, well just because he cannot help himself. Max starts off this show by lamenting that his glass of Scotch is 95% empty, so much so that Max’s long suffering producer Dan having listened to Max moan for too long drops everything to come in and refill the glass. Max does wonder when Paul Ryan will grow a pair, when Trump will tell the truth, and when Tucker Carlson and Sean Hannity will actually tell the truth to their own audience.
