On 21 August, 2024, the Lai Ching-te dispensation in Taiwan organised its first edition of the Ketagalan Forum, which was overall the 8th edition of the Indo-Pacific security dialogue. Interesting remarks were presented by participants from 11 countries on supporting Taiwan and its democratic values, as well as shared concerns of regional partners vis-a-vis China. The Sports Broadcasting Signals (Mandatory Sharing with Prasar Bharati Act) Act requires private broadcasters in India to share live feeds of sports deemed to be of ‘national importance’ with the public broadcaster, allowing it to retransmit these free-to-air. In this episode, Carl is joined by Srishti Joshi, Senior Associate at the Koan Advisory Group where they discuss the intricacies of India’s sports broadcasting landscape. Should sports content be free-to-air? Should mandatory sharing exist in today’s sports broadcasting ecosystem with the ubiquity of various mediums?
