This week another earthquake shakes Sunnydale and Buffy is convinced (not unfairly) that the apocalypse is coming...again. Riley and Buffy have several unconvincing arguments about their relationship, and most importantly Spike wears a Hawaiian print shirt this week on ep 411, "Doomed"

This week we're chatting about one of the best Buffy episodes with the creepiest baddies and the show's only Emmy nomination. We're exploring some early 2000s fashion choices, why The Gentlemen are so damn creepy, and what makes a lemon bunt cake empowering in Buffy 410, "Hush"

This week we're trying to answer some questions about Nazi vampires, geeking out over a Buffyverse Kirk (Gilmore Girls) appearance, and most importantly saying goodbye to the beloved half-demon Doyle in Angel 109, "Hero"

A heartbroken Willow is casting spells with amazing consequences like blinding Giles, making Xander a demon magnet, and 'forcing' Buffy and Spike to get engaged. This week we're chatting about crimped hair, Riley's gross driving metaphors, and our first real Spuffy-service episode in Buffy 409, 'Something Blue' For more Hot Chicks with Superpowers: Emily just watched the new Netflix movie 'The Incredible Jessica James' starring Jessica Williams. While the film may not be the best, Williams' performance is fantastic. Hannah just saw a preview screening of 'Dolores' about the life of activist Dolores Huerta who was instrumental in gaining farmers rights in the United States and fought alongside Chavez for labor equality. Haley has been reading 'The Queue' by Basma Abdel Aziz (translated by Elisabeth Jaquette) for Women in Translation Month. Emily just watched Marti Noxon (of Buffy fame) in her directorial debut, "To the Bone" about a young woman with an eating disorder; a story where Noxon pulls heavily from her own life. Haley is reading "Alice and Freda Forever" by Alexis Coe; a narrative history about a young Alice who kills her love Freda and the exploration of the surrounding trial, motivation, and perceptions of queer women in the nineteenth century. 

This week we're chatting about a problematic fave. This episode has some of our favorite gifs and one-liners, but also is one of the most culturally insensitive episodes yet. The gang is recording together for the first time in a year! Too bad it's during Season 4. In keeping up the theme of season seven bombshells, this week we learn about The Initiative and corn-fed Riley's role in it, watch a grown man learn (ahem be told) he has feelings for a Freshman, and generally cry with Willow in episode 407, "The Initiative" 

This week Angel Investigations uncovers a plot to take down the LAPD through sensitivity training. In other news Kate is terrible at her job, Kate's father is even more terrible at his, and Angel has no chill when going undercover. This week we're all heartbroken as Oz breaks free of his werewolf cage (how can he weld and where did they find that crypt?), Willow begins to have doubts about the relationship, and we learn just how horrible Veruca truly is in Buffy episode 406, "Wild at Heart" For more Hot Chicks with[out] superpowers check out: Hannah has been reading 'The Secret History of Wonder Woman' by Jill Lepore which traces the heroines origins and the fascinating/creepy/prescient/misogynistic life of her creator. Emily has been listened to the podcast 'Sawbones' by Dr. Sydnee McElroy, and her husband Justin. They're great couple podcasters though she provides most of the knowledge. Haley has been watching spy show 'Covert Affairs' staring CIA agent Annie Walker (Piper Perabo) because sometimes you just want to watch a lady kick butts.
