As it turns out, “In the Name of Love” is more than just a U2 song, it’s also the name of our new sermon series. :) Biblically, love is defined by action. Today, Ian will explain to us what it is to serve in the name of love. Anyone remember why we focus on Acts 1:8?

Have you thought about what you would say to God right before you die? If you had one final prayer, what would it be? Today, Ian will let us know how Jesus prays with death just hours away.

Did you know that Jesus expects us to have trouble in our lives? Check John 16:33. "...In this world you will have trouble...". How does that make you feel?In this book that was written so long ago, it knows you don't have an easy life. Weird, huh? Today, Ian will help us to understand how to handle and view trouble in our lives.

It's all in how you view it. When we look at how the Bible tells us to view time and money, we will see it all differently. Sometimes it might seem like the way is upside down or backwards, but maybe it is finally allowing us to view it correctly.

most of you just read that title and thought "do what to persecution?" Today, Ian will walk us through how to deal with persecution as Christians. What to do and when to do it. Sounds fun, huh?

Ever think of spiritual growth as constant work and effort? With so much work and effort it gets hard to do, hard to keep up with. What if spiritual growth is more about connection rather than work? Let's see what is said in John 15 about spiritual growth?

Ian will take us through the first 13 chapters of John as a sum-up review of what we talked about in the spring.

Life has so many ups and downs...only when we’re centered on Christ, as the one we trust in, rejoice with, live for, and serve will we experience true joy and contentment.

Are you content? Do you even know what that means? Being content is not just settling for something or just “being content” with a circumstance. Paul suggests in Philippians that we become content by trusting in Christ and not relying on ourself.

What do you think about? No Really, what do you think about life, politics, sports, work, home, school... the list goes on and on. Paul wrote some practical stuff in Philippians about thinking. Listen as Ian concludes the "Missing the Point" series as we talk about some practical application about what we should think about.

There are words out there that just sound "churchy." Rejoice is one of those words! We don't often hear, "I rejoiced when I saw that grand slam last night!" If we are missing the point, maybe it's because we misunderstand what it means to rejoice...ever thought of that? If in the midst of difficulty we can begin to understand what it means to rejoice, we will see how it can effect every area of our lives.

Ian Stamps brings Living on a Prayer

Ian is going to continue our Glee series as we take a look at what it means to give your life for something you believe in. Just what does it mean to honor someone.

One. Many images and even songs come to mind when you hear that word. One. We might think of it as something small, but really we should think of it as something unifying. Religion can be dividing. The Gospel, however, brings unity. All who follow Jesus Christ, regardless of our history, become one in Him.

People can take many things from you, but no one can steal your joy! Your joy or “Glee” is all yours! Philippians was written by Paul...someone who knew how to have joy in the midst of difficult circumstances. You will also be introduced to AIM (or author’s intended meaning) of the text and how to study it...well, sort of!

What does it mean to leave a legacy? How might you fid your place in history? On this Memorial Day, get your Bible ready to turn to I Samuel 14 as we hear about a man named Jonathan. He is remembered in history by taking action and a risk.
