106 – 47 Meters Rough Cars 3
19/06/2017Weird mediocre week with shark movie 47 Meters Down, raunch-com Rough Night, and Cars 3. Drink every time someone mentions The Bends and you will die. Not enough sharks (or scares) in this shark movie. Stupid ending. Rough Night is about women, but in the end the insecure fiance is the hero? Should’ve been more funny given how great the cast is. Cars … Continue reading 106 – 47 Meters Rough Cars 3 →

105 – The Mummy Comes At Night
13/06/2017The Dark Universe has an inauspicious beginning in The Mummy. The first act is good, and as long as it stays about the mummy, it’s good. The shared universe stuff is terrible. Andy and Adam disagree about the ending, but no spoilers. It Comes At Night is suspenseful, not scary. It’s apocalyptic, but there’s no monster.

104 – Wonder Woman Captain Underpants
04/06/2017Joined by Kaitlyn Booth again to school Andy and Adam about Wonder Woman, but first we (briefly) talk Captain Underpants. The first great movie of the DCEU. Why the ‘No Man’s Land’ scene resonates. War! World War I vs II. Born Sexy Yesterday? Now just stick the landing, DC.

103 – Pirates of the Baywatch – WOMEN ONLY screening
30/05/2017Studios try to revitalize once-beloved franchises with Baywatch and Pirates of the Carribean: Dead Men Tell No Tales. Then we take a swear-filled rant about the “controversy” over the women-only screenings for Wonder Woman at the Alamo Drafthouse. And next week a (returning) special guest will join us to talk Wonder Woman! Stay awhile and listen!

102 – Diary of a Wimpy Alien Covenant
21/05/2017Alien: Covenant for the adults and Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Long Haul for the kids. Well, certain kids, because there are lots of bodily function jokes in this movie. Kiddie version of The Griswolds. Alien: Covenant is more of a Prometheus sequel than an Alien prequel, but it tries to split the difference … Continue reading 102 – Diary of a Wimpy Alien Covenant →

101 – Snatched King Arthur
15/05/2017We have Snatched and King Arthur this week, and also a look back on Prometheus and how it ties in to Alien: Covenant. We could seriously discuss it for hours, but we’ll just over you the basics– including spoilers for a 5-year old movie, for which we don’t apologize.

100 – Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2
08/05/2017It’s a Giant-Sized Episode #100 featuring Kaitlyn Booth from Bleeding Cool and a full hour of spoiler-free discussion of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. Family. Character moments. Character pairings. Platonic relationships. Music breakdown.

99 – The Promise Free Fire Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 Soundtrack
24/04/2017We spend most of the episode talking about the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 tracklist released this week. But before that we talk Armenian Genocide love triangle drama The Promise and ridiculous shoot ’em up Free Fire. We’re taking a week off but then will be back to talk Guardians 2 in our 100th Episode.

98 – Their Finest Fate of the Gifted
17/04/2017The big giant crazy movie of the week is The Fate of the Furious, but you should really consider checking out Gifted, and maybe even Their Finest. Gifted is one of Adam’s favorite movies of the year so far. Andy mentions his mom twice on the podcast, once because she might like the BBC costume drama of Their Finest. How Fate of … Continue reading 98 – Their Finest Fate of the Gifted →

97 – Going in Style
10/04/2017Going in Style is not so good, but we have dueling Michael Caine impressions and recommendations for some of our other favorite heist movies: Ocean’s Eleven and Inception.

96 – Ghost in the Shell
03/04/2017This episode contains some PG-13-rated language as we rant about racism and representation in media. Sorry. Not Sorry. But Ghost in the Shell brought it out of us. Emphasis on “in the Shell” because this movie was empty and boring. Adam had a full written review here, and here is the article from Kaitlyn Booth we reference … Continue reading 96 – Ghost in the Shell →

95 – Life Power Rangers
27/03/2017We skipped a week for FanX, but we’re back with Life aka “In Space No One Can Hear You Go ‘Meh…'” and the big screen reboot of the Power Rangers. Should you Go Go see it? Find out. . .
-
94 – Kong: Skull Island
13/03/2017Kong is King this week as the only major movie hitting the box office. It’s a perfect popcorn movie. More and also Beauty and the Beast and FanX preview next week. Come see us!
-
93 – Before I Beauty and the Tim Timmerman
06/03/2017Don’t forget that Logan came out this week– but there’s also Before I Fall and (if you live in Utah) Tim Timmerman: Hope of Tomorrow. Also, Andy got to see Beauty and the Beast early and we go through the non-controversy of gay LeFou.

92 – Logan Get Out Oscar Picks
26/02/2017We saw Logan! And it’s amazing! Also amazing is Get Out, along with all the movies nominated for Academy Awards. Hear our picks for who will (and who should) win.
-
91 – The Great Fist Fight Wall of Logan
20/02/2017We give you just a taste of Logan at the end (we’ll go into more detail next episode) but first Adam hated Fist Fight, and The Great Wall was more meh than great. Watch for a special early episode this week as we get ready for the Oscars and talk Logan more in depth!

90 – The Lego John Wick Shades Darker
13/02/2017Three sequels all of which tease next chapters in The Lego Batman Movie, John Wick: Chapter Two, and Fifty Shades Darker. The first two of those are great, the last is terrible, but if you’re reading a review of it you don’t care anyway. 50 Shades is not sexy terrible fanfic, abuse masquerading as kink. John Wick delivers … Continue reading 90 – The Lego John Wick Shades Darker →

89 – The Space Between Rings
06/02/2017The Space Between Us and Rings both disappoint, but for different reasons. Is The Space Between Us stupider than xXx? Why Rings doesn’t compare favorably to the original The Ring, or It Follows, or Halloween, or the Friday the 13th and Nightmare on Elm St movies. And why did it set itself up for sequels like this? Don’t go see these– … Continue reading 89 – The Space Between Rings →

88 – A Gold’s Purpose Yellow Birds Sundance II
30/01/2017While the regular box office brought us more dreck in Gold and A Dog’s Purpose, Sundance delivered some good films to compensate. Gold is boring and long and predictable. There’s no excuse. Also no excuse for animal cruelty in A Dog’s Purpose, but if you can get over that and don’t mind emotional manipulation, it’s barely mediocre. XX lets the ladies … Continue reading 88 – A Gold’s Purpose Yellow Birds Sundance II →

87 – xXx – Return of Xander Split Sundance
24/01/2017Two bad movies and then a rundown of all the great things at Sundance. Andy REALLY hates Split, and tells you why he gave it 0/10. xXx – Return of Xander Cage isn’t as terrible, but it’s laughably awful: 3/10. And Adam talks about Sundance movies Colossal, Chasing Coral and The Big Sick. Warning: Andy breaks out the soapbox … Continue reading 87 – xXx – Return of Xander Split Sundance →
