On this week's episode, we're thrilled to bring you our interview with Paul Milner, a renown recording engineer who not long ago decided to make Saint John home. Paul runs Trillium House Studios out of his home in uptown Saint John, where he works with both established and up-and-coming musicians with to sound their best. Before this, he had an amazing career working at the famous Le Studio in Montreal, where he worked with the likes of Keith Richards (!!!), Queensryche, and Eddy Grant. He is also credited to discovering bands such as I Mother Earth, National Velvet, The Headstones, and The Doughboys.

On this week’s episode of, we eat pie and chat with Corey Bonnevie and Gavin Downes of Little You Little Me! If you’ve been a long-time listener of this podcast, you’ve definitely heard Little You Little Me’s music before. They were one of the first local bands that graciously allowed us to play their music on our show! We chat with Corey and Gavin about how they got started in the local music scene and how important mentors were in getting them involved. We also talk about touring and how the band adopts a business mindset when it comes to a lot of their projects. These fine gentlemen play with Jeff Goldblum, a star we all know.   They just released an album on November 9th. We just scored our copy and holy moly it's amazing! This record is an absolute pleasure to listen to! The band is so interactive. They love having fun on stage and with the audience and you can hear that playfulness and proudness on the record and in these interviews.   In this episode, we give John and Alex a call to find out about what's coming up, the recording process and the stage they built at Capital Records to recreate the live experience of the club they usually play at. We also chat about how they got into music, desert island discs and so much more!

Pages of My Heart is the very first album released from our special guest this episode, Josh Peters. We're thrilled to have him on the show for Volume 50! Josh is an all-around super dude. We were so happy to catch up with him and talk about the release of his new album, how he has been distributing it, the process of writing, choosing musicians, the evolution of contury music and much much more. By day, you can find Josh doing the best tattoos around at High Tides Tattoo Shop in Saint John. He loves his work, he loves his country so grab your headphones or turn it up, we hope you enjoy this episode!

A good punk rock show with your buds is just something that makes your heart full. Music and shows are such a focal part of all of our lives. We recently got to chat with Real Sickies who were visiting Saint John from their hometown, Edmonton.  These guys make all their own tunes, music videos, and merch! They started their own label and really wanted to help others in the space get their music out to all of us. We honestly loved chatting with the guys, and understanding how they grew up, where they got their influences, their rocky start and now their soaring music career. Rod Martens is one of the most prominent voices in rock radio in Atlantic Canada. He's not only the host of Rock Mornings at Rock 88.9, Saint John's rock radio station, he's also station's manager. Though Rod is very much integrated into the Saint John community, his rock 'n' roll radio journey started years back in small-town Ontario, But believe us, it was from boring. In this episode of Strange Grooves, we chat with Rod about how he got started in commercial radio, and how the format has evolved over the years and what role it plays now. We also get into his upbringing in southern Ontario, where he was only a short drive away from the most rock 'n' roll cities: Cincinnati and Detroit. We are so excited to feature filmmaker Greg Hemmings on the show this week. It has been a long time coming, and a very well-requested interview so we made it happen. On this episode we chat first concerts, take our first Strange Phone Call, and chat drugs on the day cannabis becomes legal in Canada.  We discuss independence and the evolution of music and discovering it.
