Episode 275: How To Stay Motivated I’m so excited for the future and the possibilities. You should be too! And today, I want to talk about your why! Do you know what your why is? A lot of people don’t know their why. Go deep and let’s figure it out. The way to fix this is to always revisit and reimagine what it is. It’s okay for this to change. What has become very clear, is how obsessed you have to be with the minutia of what you’re doing. Overachievers aren’t good or great at stuff, they are BETTER than great…unbless they got lucky. But that is a small percentage of people. There’s a little exercise in here as well to help you figure things out for your business. Episode 272: Are You In First Place? I’m sitting in my car driving to my son’s field day! And as I’m sitting here I’m thinking all about kids and life. I am working on teaching my kids that when you put your mind to something, you can get what you want. But, without a guarantee, sometimes this can create fear. When you win, the fear goes away. Just do the stuff and it should work. It’s just a system. They always work when they are done in the correct order with the correct understanding. Take my other son, for example, he was doing sprints and running back and forth on our 1,200 ft driveway. He wanted to bad to win the race during his field day. Well, he won first place! There’s a small Artisan style business near us and the owner says she will never expand because it’s impossible and that good help is too hard to find. In a way, Artisan style business is a benefit for the customer. They will bend over backward to serve you. But, this isn’t great for the business owner. They make themselves a slave to the business. It’s horrible. If you feel as you are the only one who can do it correctly, then you are failing yourself. This is simply not true. There is good help out there, you DON’T have to do it all alone. A golden piece of information that will set you free and make your parents proud of you. Something that lets you have your wife believe in you or gets you the car or house you desire. But, the truth is, working harder doesn’t make you more money. It just doesn’t. When we lived in Costa Rica we had a gardener who worked his butt off diligently. He worked super hard in 90-degree weather. He sent almost all of his money back to his family in Nicaragua. Brandon Polan said, “Math is the path.” This is so so true. This is what a business is, math. If the numbers work, you win. If they don’t work, you don’t win.
