We can live lives pleasing to God because of who Christ is and what He's done. The false teachers in Titus' day taught the opposite: works gets you into heaven.

Paul tells us what to do with the false teachers in the church. John said to test them, Jesus said to be aware of them, Peter says "Don't be shocked when...”

We're moving from looking at qualifications for elders in Titus 1 to disqualifications. We see 4 of them in vv. 10-11 and how to deal with men who possess them.

This message looks at 3 reasons why we should fear God: God is holy (from Exodus 3:1-9), God is the judge (from Matthew 10:28) and God blesses (Proverbs 1:7).

Today's message is building on our previous message from Titus chapter 1. We see 4 more characteristics of what the Lord requires of leaders in His church.

What is your life all about? Are you about the advance of the gospel and the exaltation of Christ? Be encouraged from Philippians 1 to trust God with your life.

What does the Lord require of leaders in His church? True leadership is demonstrated in: service, upholding the faith, promoting godliness and hopefulness.

Out of His grace, God has gifted believers to serve in His church. You need to use your gifts. Let's see what God-glorifying service looks like in 1 Peter 4.

What is a believer's goal? Learn more about this as we look at Philippians 3. God has called him and saved him unto Christ-likeness. Jesus does it all!
