Serving Christ In Healthcare

Relating to your boss can be one of those difficult things to do in a godly way, especially when we see all of the exhortations that the Bible gives us for this specific relationship. Here are some ways in which a change in thinking about our bosses can glorify God.

Looking ahead to a long career in the same field can be intimidating. Will we really be able to do the same thing over and over again for many years? There are some things we can do that might help us honor God over the long haul.

Decision-making in healthcare can often be difficult, especially when trying to figure out what would honor God most. There are so many influences on our work, which means there are a lot of considerations we have to take into account to try and do what's best.

If we want the light of Jesus Christ to shine in our work, we need to be distinct. How are we distinct? We do things that the world wouldn't do, and we do not do things that the world would. It sounds pretty simple, but when we look at specific sins we often easily jump into, we find it is not so simple after all.

How then will your coworkers and patients call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? We can't just act like a Christian. We must share the gospel.

We are serving the Lord Christ in our work. We should work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men. What does this mean to us? How do we apply this to what we do? Healthcare can present great challenges to doing this effectively but also a great opportunity to honor God.
