46-year-old Michael Conway died Saturday, Aug. 11, 2018, while on duty. According to Erie Police Chief Dan Spizarny, Conway, a patrolman, was working as the security officer at the police station inside City Hall when he became “suddenly ill” at 6:59 p.m. Saturday.  His badge number, 334, was called for the last time over the public scanner just past 11:34 p.m. Aug. 11.  Audio courtesy of broadcastify.com.

Meet the Pennsylvania Society of Paranormal Research group in Erie. The group investigates claims of paranormal activity in Erie-area residences and different places throughout the region for free.  Bill Cook, 41, is the lead investigator for PSPRErie. The group graciously allowed us to accompany them on an investigation in the wee hours of the morning on Sunday, May 20, at The Barracks Tavern in Girard Township.

When Carl Prindle's 12-year-old daughter came to him with the information that one of her classmates was being bullied, it wasn't something he took lightly. The boy, a seventh grader at Strong Vincent Middle School was getting teased for only having one hoodie. As part of its community schools model, Erie School District is renovating rooms at five of its schools to set aside space for parents and students. Hear from Jamilia Gates, the community schools director at East Middle School, and sixth-grader Mikhail Lauris, who uses the room at East. 

Erie Schools Superintendent Brian Polito discusses the district's reaction to Governor Tom Wolf's proposed budget that includes a $15 million boost for the 11,500-student district.
