Servants dash across the tiled expanse, preparing the trail gear for the day's events. Brandt the Enduring waits outside her door, awaiting his lifelong comrade's arrival and their subsequent return to the land of mortals, the inevitable downward arc of her parabolic lifestyle. Florian sighs, clasping the last button on her jacket. She straightens her sash.
