    On this episode, Aldwin speaks on the recent passing of Dr. Nakita Mortimer and the need for change in the medical training environment. Aldwin elaborates on his mental health journey when he was in residency and why ultimately every life should be cherished, respected and loved. There is a conversation to be had about how individuals navigate their trials and tribulations. People have good days, people have bad days, people have the best days but at the end of the day we are all human and deserved to feel empowered in any and every good thing we do. Real and raw with his experience of depression, anxiety, and suicidal ideation while he was in the process. Mental illness has no face and everyone has their challenges with it. We can't address this unless we face it head on and improve the structures which facilatate its influence on our daily life.   • Episode 71- Advocacy or DIE! How to advocate as a resident physician!

    On this episode, we have Dr Franklyn Rocha Cabrero speak on his experience advocating for residents under CIR or Committees of Interns and Residents. CIR is the largest housestaff organization in the country which represents 24,000 residents around the country.  We talk about how he received backlash from speaking up against some of the unforunate challenges residents face at his program in Miami and also on the national level. Not only that but most important we lean into how to  protect yourself when you put yourself out there and how backlash can be a detterent to your success as a future physician.
