After a few mai tais and some personal reflection they press on. This week they tackle the 1996 John Carpenter film Escape From LA starring Kurt Russell as Snake Plissken, he’s one bad mother with an eyepatch and some great hair. Stay out of his way though because he won’t think twice about cutting you down where you stand. He’s got one mission and that’s to save his own skin, but he’ll need to head into the heart of LA to retrieve a doomsday device from a revolutionary leader.     Most of the crew has been granted shore leave for this week. It’ll be up to the Grease/Ointment/Brain and El Captain to make sure nothing goes awry aboard the USS Wetfloater. Curiosity gets the best of the two as the reach back into the 80s for yet another underwater base film. They’re so excited they just can’t wait for the rest of the crew to watch it. This week they dive into the 1989 film about an underwater station, with aliens. The Abyss? No strangely not, it’s Lords of the Deep. It stars Bradford Dillman and Priscilla Barnes. Directed by Mary Ann Fischer and written by Howard R. Cohen, this sci-fi tale is one we’ve basically seen before.
