Brom continues his movie month with the 80th installment of Submersion. Kyle has been freed from the brig and allowed back into the main compartments of the USS Wetfloater as they take on Frank Sinatra’s Assault on a Queen. This jazz infused heist adventure stars not only Sintra but Virna Lisi, Anthony Franciosa, Richard Conte, Alf Kjellin, and Errol John. Treasure hunters turned pirate concoct a plan to pull off a heist on one of the biggest ocean liners in the world. In this special Game On episode of Submersion the crew takes a look at the submarine based board game They Come Unseen. Published by Osprey Games in 2015, this Cold War era naval battle is sure to keep you and your friends locked in a battle of the minds the entire time you’re playing. Just talking about the game wouldn’t be enough, so the crew brings back its segment An Interview With An Expert with none other than the creator of the game himself. Commander Andy Benford joins us to discuss his career in the Royal Navy, the origins of the game, what it took to get the game published, and of course submarine movies. Brom has finally done it...He has successfully pulled off a mutiny against Captain Kyle with a ragtag band of swashbucklers. Jamie and Zac were more than delighted to help stuff and lock Kyle away in his Captains Quarters. Brom has his chance, it's his very own movie month! For his first choice Brom decided on a late 90s Pierce Brosnan, aged like a fine wine and ready to dominate the world as Agent 007. To close out Does This Really Need a Sub movie month the crew goes on shore leave and hops into their Lambo’s, Challengers, Maserati’s and take off for the 8th Fast and Furious movie, The Fate of the Furious! One thing is for sure, this submarine can cruise at speeds we’ve not seen before. Buckle up and get ready for some high octane action in Episode 75.

After setting an all-time record for the Submersionites in Least Amount of Sub Action in a film the crew questions their own existence. After a few mai tais and some personal reflection they press on. This week they tackle the 1996 John Carpenter film Escape From LA starring Kurt Russell as Snake Plissken, he’s one bad mother with an eyepatch and some great hair. Stay out of his way though because he won’t think twice about cutting you down where you stand. He’s got one mission and that’s to save his own skin, but he’ll need to head into the heart of LA to retrieve a doomsday device from a revolutionary leader. Thus, Does This Really Need A Sub Movie Month was born! This month we’ll be taking on movies that do in fact feature a sub although it may not be the films main focus. The first of these is Jackie Chan’s First Strike. In which we see Jackie Chan use his fists of fury and improvised moves on some much weaker opponents. Most of the crew has been granted shore leave for this week. It’ll be up to the Grease/Ointment/Brain and El Captain to make sure nothing goes awry aboard the USS Wetfloater. Curiosity gets the best of the two as the reach back into the 80s for yet another underwater base film. They’re so excited they just can’t wait for the rest of the crew to watch it. This week they dive into the 1989 film about an underwater station, with aliens. The Abyss? No strangely not, it’s Lords of the Deep. It stars Bradford Dillman and Priscilla Barnes. Directed by Mary Ann Fischer and written by Howard R. Cohen, this sci-fi tale is one we’ve basically seen before. After what was the most insane episode, the crew dials it back, some are so hot and bothered they have to take a week off. Jamie, Brom, and recurring guest star Patrick give us a Submersible Pod! Before Robert Downey Jr was the face of Iron Man, we had the early 90’s animated series. Just to be clear this episode is ABSOLUTELY NSFW. After 2 weeks off the crew is as immature as we thought they were and make their very most NSFW episode to date. They return in all their glory to do Episode 69.0 and yes, they did find an adult submarine film. Parodying the Hunt for the Red October, The C*** For Red October stars a Captain and an XO who are most certainly trying to make a future crewmate for their sub. When they get attacked by an enemy submarine after going into enemy waters things really heat up. A scientist and her assistant are researching snakes on an island in the Pacific and need to be extracted by a submarine captain trying to escape a dishonorable discharge. Fate steps in when the assistant thinks about the almighty dollar first and brings snakes on board to sell on the black market. We’ve got loose snakes, a Chinese military exercise, and a submarine all in one film? Count us in. Nick from Nickapedia, a podcast about a husband and wife trying new experiences, joins Kyle in an Interview With An Expert as they talk about a fairly well known submarine film, Star Wars Episode I The Phantom Menace. When the Jedi aren’t enjoying a podrace or battling droids they enjoy their time cruising around in the Bongo with the Gungans.
