A new witness who has come forward claims Oakland's New Parish nightclub owner Jason Perkins is the man who threatened to assault and burn people living in a homeless tent encampment in fliers anonymously distributed on Duboce Street in February.This witness, a former employee of Perkins, provided me with text message exchanges seemingly showing Perkins bragging about news coverage of his threatening fliers, which the witness claims Perkins himself taped to homeless people’s tents. In those text messages, Perkins also admits to brandishing a gun at a homeless man. That homeless man claimed he chased Perkins with a bat because Perkins had just pepper-sprayed him in the face. A Tennessee grandmother was arrested after she put her two young grandchildren in dog kennels in the back of her Ford Explorer, as temperatures rose to 95 degrees. 62-year-old Leimome Cheeks, 62, of Memphis, is charged with two counts of child endangerment.Her arrest came after an unidentified citizen sent Memphis police a cell phone video showing her opening the back of her SUV and letting a child out of a latched kennel inside.The viral video shows a girl slowly easing herself out of the cage and walking unsteadily for a few seconds afterward. Cheeks’ grandchildren — a 7-year-old and an 8-year-old — told authorities that she put them in the kennels because there was not enough room in her SUV, according to an affidavit obtained by local news outlets.

The police showed up soon after as the guy ran away to continue his workout," Harris said on Facebook.Harris said police told him they couldn't do anything because the homeless man’s possessions are considered debris, and that the jogger may only get a fine for littering.

Two teens were busted after they were caught smoking weed in the cars they broke into.It happened early Saturday morning at Ben’s Auto Sales on N.W. 39th.“You can see ashes,” said Ben Goli. “They were smoking weed.”Marijuana cigars were found in the door handle and ashes throughout the car.Another car was missing pieces.“Basically, they tried to take the dash apart.
