Imagine this scenario: You start tournament fishing the Bassmaster Youth Trail at 15 years old because you're so fired up and passionate about the sport.  You turn 18 and are now too old to continue fishing the trail so what do you do next? Logically you look for a local club to join...but wait...they don't allow girls?  This is the scenario that happened to this week's guest, Florida angler Christina Weber. Since 15 it seems like Christina's done a little bit of everything in fishing. From fishing tournaments to public speaking (she's really good by-the-way!) to kayak fishing to running a skiff. It's been a little while since I last had a conversation with Jennifer Pudenz on the show. We chatted via Skype way back on Episode 25. Minnows are a popular live bait option for springtime fishing. I've been wanting to have LeAnn on the show ever since I rode along with GMAN at the Bassmaster Classic last year in Knoxville. I love how much she supports his career behind the scenes and she shares her tournament life from her perspective in our conversation. They're each other's "ride or die!"  On the flip side, I also met Trait Zaldain last year at the Classic. An aspiring Elite Series Tournament Angler, Trait is married to Chris Zaldain who was actually fishing the Classic. Trait offers a different perspective from a couple who are both fishing tournaments for a living, yet they still manage to be each other's support. On a beautiful winter day in Middle Tennessee, I made the scenic mountainous drive eastbound on I-24 from Nashville to Chattanooga to visit with Tom Rowland. In Memory of Patsy M. Genz 1948-2020 This is a special replay of Episode 51 in honor of the life of Patsy Genz.  Anyone who ice fishes has heard of Dave Genz. Dave is called the godfather of ice fishing and has revolutionized the sport. Many people don’t realize that behind the scenes was his wife Patsy and daughters, Missy and Kathy. From actually sewing the shacks, to wrapping hooks with lead and packaging maggots to be shipped around the country those three women were and are an important part of this legacy. Missy and Kathy said they didn’t grow up fishing, they grew up catching! The Crystal River in Florida is a beautiful fishery on Florida's Nature Coast. Known as the manatee capital of the world, it's also a very popular destination for scalloping. A wide variety of fish can be caught such as tarpon, trout, redfish, shark, cobia, grouper and Spanish mackerel. It's not uncommon to see dolphin hunting their own prey as you fish alongside them.  This beautiful river is what drew this week's podcast guest, Jacinda Rose to become a kayak fishing guide on the Crystal River in Ozello, FL. I sit down with her to dine on our freshly caught Crystal River redfish as she tells us her inspiring story (and recounts a couple of harrowing moments). The 44th Annual National Wild Turkey Federation Convention and Sport Show is a wrap!
