Beatnik Turtle's Encore Song Of The Day

This song is dedicated to Joe Murphy who lost his battle with cancer on 4/1/07. About eight weeks before this, our friend Mur Lafferty wrote in and asked if we could write a song about Joe's super spy alter ego, Mason Rocket. We did and since we recorded it during February, it became part of our Record Production Month album, All In A Day's Work Joe Murphy was a podcaster, a writer, and a dear friend to many people. There's a memorial fund that Joe's friends created on his behalf. Donations are appreciated.

Someone wrote our website and suggested we write a song called "Batshit Insanity." So we did.

This song was based on the original demo lyrics to Under The Radar - a song that debuted January 4, 2007 here at TheSongOfTheDay.com. Dugan O'Keene took the original lyrics and took it in an entirely different and cool direction.

This is the song to sing outloud if you see a dinosaur walking down your block. Actually, the lyrics have confused the band for a number of years, but to decode it all you need to know is "dinosaur" is a particular person's nickname.

Another early demo of a song that turns out great live, and is found on our newly released Live Album. It's also planned for the next studio album. It helps if you have advanced flowcharting software to figure out the lyrics.

After setting the original version of this song, called "It's Gonna Keep On Runnin'," as his cell phone ring tone, Tom got so many weird looks from strangers and co-workers that we decided it must be converted into a ring tone. We changed the lyrics and created this new version, including today's bonus song, specially edited for your cell phone!

This was written for Planned Parenthood when Jason was attending the University of Iowa. It was rejected. They don't have ones that glow.
