This week we're continuing or discussion of our favorite Christian songs with Connor's first pick of the series. Jon Foreman is the lead singer of the band Switchfoot and also does his own solo work. Jon wrote a song called "Your Love Is Strong" on an EP called "Spring". We discuss what the song means to us, how scripture speaks through it and some of our insights of the lyrics.

We're starting a new series! We love music, and it plays such a vital role in our worship and lives that we felt compelled to share our favorite worship and Christian songs with you. This episode we'll be discussing All Sons and Daughters song "All The Poor And Powerless".

We're wrapping up our Dear Church series with the letter to Laodicea. Laodicea was the wealthiest of the seven churches who received letters. They were the banking capitol of the area, had a booming garment trade, and manufactured a high sought after eye salve. But for all their wealth and comfort they had a few serious problems. Their water supply was disgusting, and unpalatable. Jesus  uses these circumstances to speak truth to the lukewarm congregation.

The city of brotherly love, but not the one your thinking of. Today we're continuing our Dear Church series as we progress through the letters Jesus wrote to the seven churches in Asia minor. As we look into the letter we'll discuss the meaning behind it, community as a body of believers, and what it means to be weak.

As we continue our look at the seven letters written to the churches of Asia Minor we find ourselves with a bit of a "walking dead" situation. Sardis was a church perched high atop an acropolis that had good deeds and felt safe, but Jesus has other things to say.  How do we speak truth in our world today, and how does this letter apply to the modern church?

In addition to butchering the pronunciation of the city, today we'll discuss the letter to Thyatira. Thyatira was a working class city that most of us could relate to, but it posed a problem for Christians living and working in the city. A familiar, infamous name from the Old Testament makes an appearance, and we talk about if the lessons learned from this letter can even apply to us today.

False teachings, the throne of Satan, a double edge sword, and some interesting historical twists. We continue our "Dear Church" series with the letter written to the church of Pergamum. We'll be discussing what all this means and if any of it is relevant to the church today.

Today we continue our "Dear Church" series with the letter addressed to the Church of Smyrna. Smyrna is unique in that there is no correction or rebuke as with the other churches who received letters (with one exception). We'll look into the circumstances surrounding the church and talk about persecution and how it affects us today.

Today we start a new series called "Dear Church". We'll be looking at the letters that Jesus wrote (during John's Revelation) to seven churches in Asia Minor. Today we look at the first letter written to the Church of Ephesus. Jesus commends the church for their hard work and perseverance, but rebukes them for forgetting that the church was their "first love". We discuss what it means to make the church your first love, and how we as Christians should examine the world  through the lens of Christ first, before anything else.

In the series finale of FAQs we discuss the question "How is Christianity different from other religions?" This topic will tie in much of what we talked about throughout our series.  Is there really that big of a difference? Don't all religions just lead eventually to God? We talk about all these things and more.

Out with the old and in with the new, right? What is the point of reading the Old Testament if we have a new one? Is the Old Testament even relevant in our modern lives? As we continue our discussion of frequently asked questions that are encountered in Christianity we turn our attention to the first thirty nine books of the bible and talk about the relevance is has in our lives.

Today we tackle a delicate questions as we continue our FAQs series. There are so many misconceptions and misunderstandings about heaven.  Death is never an easy topic to cover, but we have hope in Jesus! Those who believe don't need to fear death, but a questions that is often pondered is "Will I be able to recognize my loved ones in heaven?" We'll turn to scripture for answers as we seek our answer.

This week we try our hand at some apologetics. No we're not saying sorry for anything. Apologetics is the reasoned defense of something. Simply put apologetics is used to make a logical defense of the Christian faith. So today we discuss the frequently asked question "is there any historical evidence of the Resurrection"?

We continue our FAQ's series by looking at a question that breaks the mold of a "frequently asked question". That question is "Why is sin such a big deal?" This is one of those questions that don't often get asked directly, but often is the root question to many deeper conversations of faith. We'll dive deep into this topic an discuss what sin is all about, what our preconceived notions are, where we struggle and what the solution ultimately is.

Today we're starting a new series called "FAQ's". During our time in ministry we've stumbled upon some questions that tend to repeat themselves over the years. And we feel these frequently asked questions should be discussed. Sometimes the Bible can very difficult to understand, which might lead one to ask why God make it that way. Did God intentionally make His word hard to understand or are there other factors in play here?

Today we're wrapping up our "Stuff Jesus Said" series. Jesus had so many amazing things to say during his ministry on earth. His final words on the cross though might be among the most powerful. With these words the universe was forever changed. Nothing would ever be the same.

What is a covenant? Is it like a oath? A contract? A pinky promise? This week we take a look back at what we celebrated on Maundy Thursday, the last supper.  For Christians the last supper is very familiar, and can almost become "routine". But with Jesus' words He spoke an incredible message that rocked His disciples world and foreshadowed His awesome plan of salvation.

So much to cover in so little time. We really felt called to go back and finish our thought on idols, and specifically talk about the everyday things in our lives we struggle with. There are things we invest ourselves to that seem good, but slowly take the place of God in our lives. Those become idols. We wrap up our talk on idols as we discuss everyday idols and the idea of transformation.

As we continue in our “Stuff Jesus Said” we take a look at some Old Testament stuff first and then make our way into what Jesus has to say on the matter. Idols are an everyday issue that we face. God wants our full attention but he doesn’t always get it. In todays episode we break these idols down and explore how they affect us today, and how we should prioritize our lives.

Fear is a basic human emotion, so it’s something we all have to deal with at some point. Fear can range from a slight anxiety about something to a paralyzing dread. In todays episode we discuss the role that fear plays in our lives, and what Jesus has to say on the matter.
