The Fourth of July is a time to remember those who worked diligently on penning the Declaration of Independence and subsequently laid the foundation for the liberty and freedoms we have today. In our Christian faith, we have those that gave their wealth, health, and - at times - their lives to provide a foundation for our eternal freedom. We need to be the light of Christ to a world that is fearful and losing hope. We need to come together now and make a "declaration of dependence,” not a “declaration of independence.” Christ is the only hope for anyone and for any country! We must do whatever we can to bless America and others with the love of Christ! On this Fourth of July weekend, join me on Sunday as we lift up our eyes and praise God for the greatness and the blessings of living in America. Pastor Paul Berst

It was wonderful to be with you again last Sunday. I always consider it an amazing honor to bring the Word to you and watch your enthusiasm and love for Jesus grow. Thank you for the privilege! This week, we will finish Luke 12 and the discussion about Jesus' challenging and somewhat mysterious words regarding "casting fire upon the earth." I want to finish this portion of Jesus' dialogue and attempt to capture His reasoning in its fullness. Have you ever been tempted to procrastinate regarding spiritual things? I know I am often tempted to put things off. Can you imagine folks doing this at the risk of their eternal destinies? Jesus is going to shock us out of our comfort zones, but all for our own good.
