Writing songs, composing, playing instruments and singing in different styles, have been a part of her education and her daily life since childhood. PEG INTERVIEWS ALT POP DUO: THE VIBRANT SHADOWS The Vibrant Shadows Bio: The Vibrant Shadows are an alternative pop duo from Shawnee, OK.  They have grown up around music throughout their entire lives and previously were in another band called Shoulda Been Blonde beginning around 2014 and through January of 2020.  They have played many gigs over the years since they began performing together in 2014 at the ages of 14 and 15. The first gig they played together was in 2014 at a festival in Shawnee. They began playing together for fun and over time Peyton began writing her own songs. Soon after they began the band, they released their first EP. While with the band Peyton wrote songs for two EPs and one full length album. Lauren and Peyton left the band in 2020 due to creative differences but started The Vibrant Shadows in October of 2020. She started singing in circus productions, but this was not the beginning of her artistic roots. Nadia’s love of music and singing began at the age of two and was later nurtured by her parents by placing her into a traveling youth choir. Her mother was a poet who passed on her love of words, which later fueled Nadia’s talent as a lyricist. Nadia’s life took an unexpected turn at the age of 17 when she lost her mother to suicide. She dismantled her high-school band and strayed from songwriting and singing for years, other than the occasional karaoke. PEG Talks 2 Iceland Singer Songwriter BRYNJA With a background in acoustic folk music, Icelandic singer/songwriter Brynja is paving her own road in the music industry. She combines dreamy vocals and honest lyrics with elements of R&B, pop and Nordic folk to create a unique sound. At a young age Brynja’s parents noticed she had a musical ear, and started her on violin, piano, and clarinet. It wasn’t until shortly after her twentieth birthday that she found her own way into music while working with a street theatre group in Norway. There she learned how to play the guitar and fell in love - a combo that sparked her interest in music and led to her writing songs. PEG Interviews UK Singer Songwriter Regina Fae We talked to Regina previously on Anchor.fm  This is our second Interview Regina Fae is a singer songwriter that mixes folk, country, classical and pop styles in her music. Growing up, she was classically trained in the violin and performed as part of a youth string orchestra. She taught herself how to play the guitar at the age of 19 and at 20 she released her debut studio album ‘Castle’. She has been performing live in Egham, Andover and Salisbury for two years. Fae publicly came out as lesbian in 2020 with the release of her most recent single ‘Kaleidoscope’, written about her experience as part of the LGBT+ community. As well as making music, Fae is currently studying towards an MA in Medieval Studies at Royal Holloway University of London. Her live shows are audio-visual and rich in soundscapes, created by the artist's signature vocals, synthesizers (using real plants to generate sound), and digital sampling. Her latest album, Balta Gaisma (White Light) is a step towards pop-music. While not leaving her experimental leanings behind, she embraces 21st Century pop, exploring the cadences of Hyper-pop and PC Music.
