Pepperdine Bible Lectures 2018

Kyle Sapp A panel discussion about working in ministry while wrestling with mental illness. All panelists bring their own story and perspective of how they have lived with their mental illness. The discussion dives into how their mental illness has impacted their work in the kingdom in both positive and negative ways and focuses on practical ideas for how we can continue to love and support our friends and family who live with mental illnesses.

Doug Jacoby, Nick Zola In the late 1980s, the International Churches of Christ (ICOC or Boston Movement) formally split from the Churches of Christ (COC). In 1992, the ICOC was labeled by Time magazine as one of the world’s fastest growing church movements. But by 2000, the ICOC was experiencing an internal upheaval that forced it to reevaluate its identity. Today dialogue and cooperation have reopened between the COC and ICOC. This series explores reasons behind the rift and recent moves towards its repair.

Bee Bloeser Bee Bloeser reveals a story few have ever heard and that resonates in today’s news. Her family moves to Nigeria during the Nigeria-Biafra war, and then to Equatorial Guinea, a country in the stranglehold of the Terror. Her husband was on the front lines in the battle between human and microbe, but for Bee and their two young children, the front line became the tension and isolation of life under an unhinged dictator. Sadly, she left God out of the picture just when she needed Him most.
