"The Second Temple" is our title for this message out of Ezra 6:13-22.Pastor Jonathan maps it out as follows:1. Restoration of God's Method (God's Word) v. 13-142. Restoration of Worship (God's Glory) v. 15-183. Restoration of Passover (God's Picture) v. 19-224. Restoration of Prophesy (God's Plan)"Every Work FOR God Must Begin with a Word FROM GOD". Matthew 14:22-33 is Pastor Jonathan's main additional scripture to Ezra this morning.

"Temple work begins in earnest under directives of sacred prophesying/preaching from Haggai “my feast” (Haggai 1:1-12) and Zechariah “Yahweh remembers” (Zech.3:1-7; 4:6-9), and the secular intervention of Darius (6:1-12). The temple rebuilding is completed within five years.""Some take-a ways to consider from Ezra 6:1-12."1) "God’s Word, Scripture/Prophecy, is to be believed and obeyed, not deconstructed or apologized for; read and understood in a plain, literal, grammatical, historical method." 2) "Godly rebuilding outside begins with spiritual renewal inside."3) "Opposing God, His plans, His promises, His people and His Word, is ultimately an exercise in futility for Christians or non-Christians."

This week's sermon is "Unstoppable God" Ezra 5:1-17. It gives examples of obedience resulting in divine protection. We are often protected due to God's grace upon our lives but "obedience gives confidence that you are fully protected by God."

This week out of Ezra 4:6-24 in our "Restoration" series, we have "Letters of Opposition" The Jews of that time had continual opposition from their Persian captors with regards to rebuilding their temple and the city of Jerusalem but "Despite the attempts of adversaries, God's plan to restore worship was unstoppable."We learn that some of the opposition came from those that were concerned they'd lose money. "Money is always a way to grab someone's attention!"As christians, "The gospel must be the driving force of every decision we make."

Restoration- The Book of Ezra, "Haters Gone Hate"- Ezra 4:1-5.Pastor Herb breaks this down into two sections:"Hello Haters" verses 1-3"Haters Attack" verses 4-5Be encouraged, God has a plan for you, regardless of any discouragement you might be experiencing. Pastor Herb identifies 3 ways to defeat discouragement:1) Prayer2) Patience3) GraceMay you be encouraged today by this timely message.

Due to the snow, we weren't able to meet in person but enjoy our Antioch News and this recorded sermon that'll keep you up to date on Pastor Herb's series "Restoration" The book of Ezra. This week- "Praise Party" - Ezra 3:8-13

The 3rd sermon in the series "Restoration" is titled "Rebuilding The Altar" out of Ezra 3:1-7. The following are some thoughts and truths Pastor Herb shared in his sermon."Remember what you've been rescued from" was just one of the nuggets shared during this sermon. Another was some truths gleaned from the Old Testament feasts.1) Take a day of rest.2) Give an offering (our time, financial and offering forgiveness are just a few examples.3) Try fasting (replace that time with reading/studying God's word and praying)4) Start a memorial. This serves as a time of remembrance and rejoicing.

Restoration series continues with "Exiles Return Home" Ezra 2:1-70."God chose to write a permanent record of the exiles who returned to Jerusalem. Here is an outline:A Four-Month Journey (v. 1-63)Numbers are important (v. 64-67)Offering Done Right (v. 68-70)"
