This was a slow week for me when it comes to box office releases that I actually want to see and review. I also had a chance to see a few movie trailers that make me wonder how did this even get greenlit by their respective studios. So here I go with what’s coming up in the box office that you may or may not want to see. This week it was announced that Mark Hamil was going to voice Chucky in the Childs Play Reboot. I’m cool with a great voice actor doing his thing but remakes and horror movies are always on my why do they exist list. Annabelle Comes Home (Warner Bros) – I think that everyone knows I can’t stand Horror films. I really don’t like being scared. Although, I think this is basically dragging this one out to the point of what was scary in the 1st film is becoming more and more ridiculous. Why would you want a creepy doll around? I don’t plan on sitting here and pointing out instances where Batman has killed. I am sure there are many instances throughout his 80-year history people can find where it has happened. With less than a month before Avengers: Endgame we get the release of character posters and these posters were extremely interesting. The ones in color are the characters left to find a way to defeat Thanos and figure out a way to reverse the snap. The word has gone out that this is Tyler Perry’s last performance as Madea. I will have to say there have been so many changes in his films over the years and these are a far cry from the plays he started so many years ago.  Over the past couple of weeks, the internet trolls have gone back and forth about going to see the real Captain Marvel. True comic book fans understand the history and reason for the name change and legal history of this character. Us hit the movie theaters and outside of hearing a creepy version of I got 5 on it I am now not interested in seeing it.  I don’t do horror movies but most importantly it was spoiled for me and the level of spoiler really minimized my interest in it. Now I am a person who you can tell a whole plotline word for word but I still want to see and feel the emotional connection to the excitement. I had one of those days where I was actively looking for something interesting in the movies to review. Let’s talk about this trailer that just dropped yesterday. Batman Vs Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Now I am not going to complain that my Warner Bros Animation connect didn’t send me the official press release I am just going to keep going and call it a day.  I am four episodes into Doom Patrol and I will tell you this has to be one of the strangest (actually a mind trip) yet satisfying series I have ever watched. OK, I have figured out the key to success on social media. It isn’t about being an objective reasonable person it is all about drama either real or made up. This week there has been so many crazy events that have captivated the public. From R. Where do we begin? This is the last MCU movie before we get the final fate of the Avengers in Avengers: Endgame. Before I even start there have been so many mixed reviews about this movie, some say it is bad, some say it is just average let’s go over a number of points before I get to reviewing the movie.  This is an origin story – so if you are expecting a whole lot of mindless superhero moments DON’T I have watched other more successful YouTube personalities review this movie and they did not give it good or even OK reviews. I really don’t do horror movies but this will definitely be on my list. I know it will be full of “Don’t go in there moments and What the heck happened moments”. A Superman origin story with no moral restraints is what you have with Brightburn.  This is what happens when you get released from Marvel, Don’t start you new job with Warner Bros yet and say to heck with it let me do a flick for Sony.    People we have to be better than this. I grew up over the 70s and 80s and admittedly we had our fears of strangers and things that we had to be cautious of but with the internet it now isn’t only a physical threat it is a mental one we have to warn our kids about. This week this scare about MOMO was all over the news and the internet. I am always the first to dismiss things as hoaxes which this was most definitely one. I make it my point to see movies that interest me and review some. Rotten Tomatoes be darned I am not worried about a critic score I like what I like I AM A FAN. So, part of my ritual when I go see movies is to evaluate trailers in my mind to see what I may or may not want to see and I have found a few that I will go see because I liked them, a few because I am obligated and a few have left me scratching my head. Frozen 2 – Disney animation is always a good idea to watch first on the big screen. But Frozen 2 is making me slightly nervous because their track record with sequels is pretty sketchy. I mean usually we get these types of sequels straight to video with the Toy Story saga being one of the exceptions to the rule.  Netflix released 10 episodes of its new series The Umbrella Academy in its post Marvel/Netflix Collaboration era.
